    Associate Coordination Officer

    Competencies

    PLANNING & ORGANIZING: Develops clear goals that are consistent with agreed strategies; identifies priority activities and assignments; adjusts priorities as required; allocates appropriate amount of time and resources for completing work; foresees risks and allows for contingencies when planning; monitors and adjusts plans and actions as necessary; uses time efficiently.

    Education

    • Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in business administration, economics, urban planning and architecture, mass media and communication, sociology, project management or related field is required.
    • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of relevant qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

    Work Experience

    • A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project/programme management, administration or related area is required.
    • Experience in establishing partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including at the strategic level is required.
    • Experience in drafting policy documents, project summaries, and background papers is required.
    • Working experience with an Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) system, such as Umoja, is desirable
    • Work experience with non-governmental organizations, the UN system or a similar organization is desirable.

    Languages

    English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in English is required. Knowledge of French is desirable. Knowledge of another UN official language is desirable.
