    Chief Internal Auditor: DPP 3

    REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

    For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

    • Served for three (3) years at the level of Deputy Chief Internal Auditor DPP 4 OR in a comparable and relevant position in the Public or Private Sector for a minimum period of three (3) years;
    • Bachelor's degree in any ofthe following disciplines: Business Administration (BA)-Accounting/Finance Option or Bachelor of Science (BSC)-Auditing and Consultancy/Finance option from a recognized Institution or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Certified Public Accountant - CPA(K) part III or equivalent qualifications;
    • Membership to a relevant professional body and in good standing;
    • Be a registered member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IlA) or Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) or certified Information Systems Auditors (CISA) and in good standing;
    • Master's degree in any of the following disciplines: Business Administration (MBA)-Accounting/Finance Option or Masters of Science (Msc)-Auditing and Consultancy/Finance option from a recognized Institution;
    • Demonstrated professional competence and administrative capabilities in work performance and results; and
    • Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya zoro; Integrity, lcadership, Honesty, Accountability and Discipline in the service to people.

    NOTE: Possession ofa Strategic Leadership Development course lasting not less than six (6) weeks from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITTIES

    An officer at this level will be responsible directly to the Director of Public Prosecutions professionally and administratively to the Deputy Director of Central Facilitation Services. Specifically, duties and responsibilities at this level will include:

    • Coordinating development, implementation and review of audit and risk management policies, procedures, strategies and Audit Framework;
    • Coordinating the identification and profiling of risks in ODPP and coordinating the development, implementation and reliew of ODPP internal audit and risk control systems;
    • Facilitating the derelopment, implementation and review of Audit Charter in accordance with ODPP strategy for the Audit Committee members;
    • Advising the Accounting Officer on audit matters;
    • Coordinating the preparation and implementation ofthe audit budget and divisional work plans;
    • Facilitating liaison with the external auditor on internal control issues
    • Coordinating the development, implementation and reriew of database of audit and risk management actifities and evaluating utilization of software and data analytical tools;
    • Facilitating supplier performance management through the analysis ofvalue delivered against signed contracts and senices provided by suppliers;
    • Providing support on preparation and review of eudit Reports and presentation to  ODPP management;
    • Monitoring, verification and scrutiny ofthe books ofaccounts and provide appropriate advice on the accuracy, correctness and the cash position ofthe caih books;
    • Evaluating the implementation of audit recommendations in ODpp;
    • Interpreting financial policies, controls and regulations of ODpp management for sound audit principles/ practices;
    • Reriewing of accounting, financial and budgetary systems;
    • Proriding technical input to the ODPP's Audit Committee;
    • Coordinating staff appraisal within the Division in liaison with Human Resource Management Division; and
    • Coaching, mentoring, training and development of staff in the Division
