    Finance Officer

    Job Purpose:

    To process and record financial transactions in the book of accounts to identify, measure and communicate economic information through preparation of financial reports.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: Commerce (Finance/Accounting option), Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Business Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
    • Passed Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) of Kenya or Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Examination; and
    • Membership to a relevant professional body such as the Institute of Public Accountants (ICPAK) Kenya, Association of Chartered certified accountants (ACCA), or equivalent.

    Key Duties & Responsibilities

    • Collate for compilation of information required in the budgetary process;
    • Carry out compilation of departmental annual budgetary estimates;
    • Monitor commitments and expenditures for recurrent, development and donor funds.;
    • Implement day-to-day operations in the division;
    • Participate in development of supplementary financial regulations and procedures to enhance internal controls established through normal treasury regulations and procedures;
    • Implement the department’s budget;
    • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports;
    • Participate diligently in various committees as shall be appointed or tasked from time to time;
    • Implement internal and external audit recommendations; and
    • Maintain safe custody of all accountable documents.
