    Grants & Policy Associate

    Role Overview:

    As the Policy and Grant Associate, you will be responsible for analyzing policy landscapes, developing advocacy strategies, and managing grant programs to create an enabling environment for the adoption and expansion of SunCulture’s product portfolio across all our markets. You will collaborate with government agencies, international organizations, and key stakeholders to influence policy decisions and secure grants that support the company's objectives. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving the growth of our company and promoting sustainable agriculture practices.

    Responsibilities:

    • Conduct thorough research and analysis of policy frameworks and regulations related to solar irrigation in Sub-Saharan Africa, identifying policy gaps, barriers, and opportunities for adoption and scalability.
    • Develop advocacy strategies, engaging with stakeholders to influence policy decisions and promote favorable regulatory environments.
    • Research and identify grant opportunities from various sources, develop proposals aligning with company goals, and manage the full application process.
    • Collaborate with finance and project teams to ensure compliance with grant requirements and reporting obligations.
    • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, representing the company in meetings, conferences, and workshops.
    • Collaborate with industry associations and advocacy groups to amplify influence on policy and funding issues.
    • Stay updated on policy developments, monitor grant program performance, and prepare regular reports for stakeholders.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to align policy and grant objectives with business strategies, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

    Does this sound like you?

    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as public policy, international development, or environmental studies.
    • Proven experience in policy analysis, advocacy, and grant management, preferably in the renewable energy or agriculture sector in Sub-Saharan Africa.
    • Strong understanding of policy frameworks, regulations, and grant programs related to solar irrigation.
    • Excellent research and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and data.
    • Effective communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented with strong project management skills, ensuring timely completion of grant applications and reporting.
    • Self-motivated and proactive with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Fluency in English is required, proficiency in other local languages spoken in Sub-Saharan Africa is a plus.
    • Willingness to travel within the region as needed.
