    Manager– Regulatory Compliance and Reporting

    DESCRIPTION

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy for Manager– Regulatory Compliance and Reporting within Corporate Affairs Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Posting Description

    Reporting to the Senior Manager - Regulatory Compliance role holder is responsible for handling regulatory compliance and reporting. Ensure that the business is always compliant to all regulatory obligations and reporting requirements.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Ensure general compliance by the business to Quality of Service (QoS) requirements, License conditions and other Regulatory obligations.
    • File Quarterly & Annual Compliance Returns with CA and other Regulatory Agencies.
    • Support the Regulator in QoS and Inspection of facilities Audits.
    • Internal Stakeholder engagement on compliance to Regulatory obligations.
    • Support industry research and report on Key issues that will impact the business.
    • Participate in development of national Legislation, Regulations and Policies affecting the industry.
    • Undertake detailed research and benchmarking for purposes of developing Safaricom position in response to legislative and Government policy changes from time to time.
    • Support Universal Service Fund implementation monitoring and engagement.
    • Engage all stakeholders to ensure compliance to all Regulatory obligations and QOS.
    • Ensure that Safaricom Quarterly returns are filed with CA on time and with accuracy.
    • Develop Safaricom’s lobbying position on licensing, interconnection and changes in ICT Regulations.
    • Engage the Authority on various regulatory issues from time to time.
    • Ensure that all payments due under the operating licence, legislation, are made on time.
    • Undertake detailed analysis of industry reports affecting Safaricom such as CA Quarterly and Annual Industry Reports.
    • Provide feedback to management on key areas of concern, potential and other analytical outputs to guide decision making.
    • Take lead in Research activities involving Safaricom from industry Regulators such as Communication Authority, Kenya Bureau of Statistics, KIPPRA and International organizations such as GSMA and International Telecommunication Union (ITU). 

    Job Requirements                         

    • A degree in a law or a business-related field from a recognized university.
    • Advanced knowledge in Business finance, Accounting, statistics, Quantitative techniques would be an advantage.
    • Experience in conducting compliance audits and reviews
    • A good understanding of the Telecommunication Industry and its Regulatory environment will be an added advantage
