    Sector Manager - Multinationals

    Detailed Description

    Reporting to the Senior Manager- Multinationals (MNCs) – Large Enterprise & Public, the position holder will manage a team of Account Relationship Managers. The key objective is to coordinate team in driving segment propositions and business revenues to exceed targets. This will be through acquisition and retention of baseline under their management.

    Job Requirement

    • Identify growth prospects and specific opportunities in the sector
    • Craft strategic plans for sector penetration and guide sector team on tactical plan execution
    • Supervise the development of a sales pipeline for the sector
    • Identify growth opportunities and up-selling and cross – selling potential within the assigned sector.
    • Direct management of a maximum of five Key accounts in the sector
    • Provide leadership for customers in understanding segments requirements and recommend relevant segment propositions to achieve those goals
    • Supervise development and executions of customer ring fencing strategies
    • Develop strong relationships with customers at CxO to maintain ongoing revenue stream
    • Manage all customer escalations with relevant stakeholder in the organization and ensure closure
    • Participate in developing responsive propositions in conjunction with segments/Tribe team
    • Develop customer value propositions and presentations

     QUALIFICATIONS

    • A bachelor’s Degree. (A business-related discipline with an IT/Commercial bias will be an added advantage)
    • 4-5 years working experience managing key accounts in a B2B environment
    • Strong relationship building skills preferably from a major blue-chip company
    • Ability to inspire and manage a sales team
    • New business development skills with keen focus on Internet of Thing and ICT solutions

    Engineer – VAS Support

    Detailed Description

    Reporting to the VAS Support Lead, the position holder shall offer support, develop and integrate VAS Systems, Products and Services offered to Safaricom customers with the goal of delivering high quality and high service availability thresholds (99.999%). The Engineer shall ensure VAS systems operate within allowed thresholds in terms of systems availability, capacity and security conformance. VAS Systems comprise of all Value Added Services which include, but not limited to, SMSC, USSD, Content delivery platform, Voice (RBT, IVR & Media exchange), Video, Device management, Web Portal solutions and Machine Learning Platforms.

    Responsibilities

    • VAS Systems and Services’ diagnosis and resolution of  issues to ensure MTTR and other service availability KPIs are met.
    • Device and implement Proactive ways and tools for monitoring VAS Services using Artificial Intelligence operations model(AIOPs) and Machine Learning.
    • Development, configuration and integration of all VAS solutions/systems in line with the Digital IT strategy execution plan.
    • Technical reviews to implements solutions and work arounds for faults/incidents.
    • Properly escalate and document unresolved service or system issues to appropriate internal or external teams and follow up to ensure they are satisfactorily closed within SLA.

    Senior Manager – Financial Services Assurance

    Detailed Description

    Reporting to the Head of Business Assurance, the position holder will provide assurance to the business on billing and revenue reporting of M-PESA and other products and services within Financial Services. This will be achieved by ensuring end to end assurance for all existing and new products and services within Financial Services.

    Responsibilities

    • Build a robust Financial Services assurance model to improve revenue management controls including new revenue growth areas.
    • Oversee the functions of Financial Service Assurance that include M-PESA billing assurance, M-PESA airtime distribution, M-PESA commission and e-vale assurance.
    • Advice the organization on any potential risks that may hinder the reputation, safety, security, existence and profitability or financial prosperity of the organization in relation to new and existing M-PESA products and services
    • Ensure that all M-PESA tariffs, ands, rating and billing systems are accurately set up and are aligned with the approved business rules to ensure minimal revenue loss.
    • Ensure completeness and accuracy of M-PESA balances through balance monitoring checks.
    • Ensure accuracy of the M-PESA E-value balances through reconciliations between the E-value and M-PESA trust account balance.
    • Manage the development of appropriate processes and procedures that will ensure all M-PESA revenue streams are tracked and any deviations in revenues are explained.
    • Provide assurance on M-PESA commissions, through performing an end to end reconciliation of all commissions rolled up and paid both per agent and commission type.
    • Provide assurance on the M-PESA commission arbitrage and ensure accuracy in any claw back computation
    • Provide assurance on M-PESA archived funds following churned/ deleted customers.
    • Ensure all Financial Services products & promotion are assured through conducting comprehensive risk assessments
    • Provide Revenue Assurance support for M-PESA related system upgrades/expansions
    • Continuously review the operating environment within M-PESA to identify new and emerging risks and advise the organization on the various means to mitigate the identified risks
    • Take leadership of internal and external audit and follow up implementation on Team central
    • Support revenue assurance team by creating and sustaining a cultural environment for the function shaped by the Safaricom way of leadership

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Have at least 5 to 7 years’ experience in Assurance, Risk Management and/or management of business process improvement
    • Ability to analyze significant amounts of data and information and distill it to the key points that help senior management analyze risk in a given situation.

    Manager – Market Regulation

    Brief Posting Description

    Reporting to the Senior Manager – Public Policy and Market Regulation the role holder will provide Safaricom with skilled and professional analytical and advisory services, with an emphasis on regulatory and public policy issues, handling regulatory consumer-related matters, industry engagements, policy review, research, management of interconnection and regulatory contracts and related inter-operator activities of Safaricom.

    Job Responsibilities

    Consumer Protection

    • Provide guidance in the management of queries and disputes arising from. Regulators such as the CA, CAK, KCAA, NEMA etc and escalations from other business functions.
    • Disputes from Interconnection and other regulatory agreements. Ensure all the required procedures under the agreement and regulations are observed in resolving the dispute.
    • To substantively respond to consumer-related complaints from CA, CAK etc.

    Product & Service Approvals

    • To obtain approvals for the launch of products and services.
    • Advise the business units on regulatory requirements for roll out of products and services.

    Research and Analytical Support

    • To conduct and document in detail research findings on issues/topics of interest to the business.
    •  Compile and analyze regulatory and public policy topics of interest to inform decision making around those topics.
    • Track trends in regulatory issues, and benchmark Safaricom’s position with this.
    • Prepare detailed opinions on various regulatory issues, share and develop best practice methods.

    Policy and Legislation Review.

    Wholesale Contract

    • To assist in the negotiating, drafting, review and file management of
    • Interconnection agreements for national, IDD and VoIP

    Stakeholder Management

    • Maintain positive relationships between Safaricom, Regulators, National Government and other stakeholders that will assist Safaricom achieve its commercial objectives.
    • Contribute in developing industry policy, legislation, guidelines and codes of practice.
    • Support the public policy team in the preparation of opinions on public policy and competition matters as well as engagement with regulators and policy makers.
    • Monitor and advise the business on anticipated changes in legislation affecting the telecommunication industry and how these will affect the business.
    • Ensure that Safaricom is an active participant in industry consultations.
    • Engage and participate actively in industry initiatives to ensure unified approach to common industry concerns for the benefit of Safaricom.

    QUALIFICATIONS                     

    • A degree in law or a business-related field from a recognized university.
    • Certification in Public Policy, Legislative drafting would be an advantage.
    • A minimum of four years’ experience in an ICT company or regulatory authority
    • In-depth understanding of the Kenyan ICT regulatory framework and environment

    • Take lead in Research activities involving Safaricom from industry Regulators such as Communication Authority, Kenya Bureau of Statistics, KIPPRA and International organizations such as GSMA and International Telecommunication Union (ITU). 

    Job Requirements                         

    • A degree in a law or a business-related field from a recognized university.
    • Advanced knowledge in Business finance, Accounting, statistics, Quantitative techniques would be an advantage.
    • Experience in conducting compliance audits and reviews
    • A good understanding of the Telecommunication Industry and its Regulatory environment will be an added advantage
