Purpose: Offering general diagnostic or other laboratory services in a teaching medical laboratory.

Duties and Responsibilities: -

• The officer will be responsible for: -
• Preparation of practical classes/courses; 
• Keeping of student records, e.g., attendance, practical allocations and loss/breakage records;
• Calibration of laboratory equipment; 
• Ensuring that all the equipment, supplies, and bench solutions are available;
• Assisting in student projects and research activities;
• Any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time. 

Requirements for appointment: -

• A Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution 

OR

• Diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or its equivalent from a recognized institution for those in Medical and Engineering fields.
• Licensed or Licensable by a relevant professional body.
• Demonstrable information communication technology skills in relevant packages from a recognized institution.
• At least one (1) year relevant laboratory working experience post Diploma or Bachelor’s degree graduation.
• Demonstrated outstanding ability in handling laboratory services.

Candidates interested in the position are expected to fulfil requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. In this regard, they must submit copies of the following: - 

• Certificate of good conduct from Director, Criminal Investigations (DCI)
• Clearance certificate from Higher Educations Loans Board (HELB)
• Tax Compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Clearance from the Ethics & Anti – Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau
