Nursing Services Manager at Tenwek Hospital

Job Purpose: 

• To work with the Director Nursing Services in Coordinating and Supervising the Nursing services, to ensure that the level of care given meets the acceptable standards set by the Nursing Council of Kenya and by the policies set by the Tenwek Hospital Management.

Duties and Responsibility:

• Facilitation of smooth running of Nursing Services with his/her area of jurisdiction.
• Promotion of respect and good cooperation between members of departments in his/her area of jurisdiction.
• Enforcing of hospital policies to ensure smooth running of Nursing Services in his/her area of jurisdiction.
• Manage personnel by promoting respect, effective interpersonal and public relations within the teams
• Support maintenance of infection prevention guidelines and practice.
• Support the team in ensuring safety in the work place e.g. maintenance of a clean, safe, and pleasant environment
• Ensuring staff familiarize with the legal implications of nursing practice and ensure that legal requirements are met.
• Occasionally when need be, identify research topics, construct a research plan, and carry out surveys at the operational level.
• Work with the Head of Units and In-charges in ensuring that staff in their area of jurisdiction are punctual and available when on duty.
• Work with the Head of Units and In-charges in ensuring that staff in their area of jurisdiction displays Christ like attitude and character both on and off duty.
• Work with the Head of Units and In-charges in ensuring that staff abide by the Tenwek Hospital moral code, Nursing Council of Kenya (NCK) regulations and the employment act.
• Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the supervisor.
