    Senior Director, Global Access

    Key Responsibilities:

    Global Access Strategy and Planning

    • Collaborate with IAVI’s Global Access team, regional hubs, product development teams, commercial partners, and funders to develop integrated access strategies and plans to support IAVI’s pipeline products.
    • Participate in Product Development teams, and contributing to strategies and documents, including Target Product Profiles, integrated Product Development Plans, and Clinical and regulatory strategies.
    • Develop and oversee work plans, budgets, reporting and/or monitoring and evaluation systems (both internal and donor-specific).

    Access evidence generation to support product development and policy

    • Identify evidence needed for effective public policy adoption and explore pathways to accelerate access to IAVI’s innovations.
    • Oversee or execute research to define the public health value proposition, market demand, acceptability, feasibility, competitive landscape, cost effectiveness, and pathways to access for IAVI innovations.
    • Maintain a deep awareness and understanding of key access principles and strategies of the access, vaccine, and antibody product landscapes, and of scientific programs in relevant therapeutic areas.
    • Ensure broad dissemination of evidence through presentation in global health forums and preparation and submission of manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
    • Oversee contractors, consultants, and other staff, as applicable.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Advocacy

    • Convene key stakeholders to address access needs and priorities, strengthening IAVI’s position as a thought leader in driving global access strategies across product development priority areas.
    • Strengthen IAVI relationships and networks with leading global health stakeholders and commercial partners that share IAVI’s access goals.
    • Represent IAVI in engagements with potential funders, key external organizations, government agencies, and advocacy forums.
    • Advance IAVI’s access objectives at the global, regional, and national levels in collaboration with Communications, Advocacy, Business Development and Regional/Country offices.

    Resource Mobilization

    • Identify and cultivate funding opportunities to support access objectives.
    • Lead access contributions and content development for expressions of interest, proposals, work plans, partnership agreements, and other opportunities to secure resources for access planning and implementation.
    • Represent access activities in donor engagements and support donor relationship management.

    Education and Work Experience:

    • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Public Health, Global Health, International Policy, a related field is required.
    • Minimum 12 years of professional experience with a minimum of 7 years’ experience in global market access, public policy, commercialization, or global health is required.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Proven track record working on access-related issues and solid knowledge of global health ecosystem and current trends.
    • Experience across relevant fields such as global health product commercialization, global market access, and public policy, required.
    • Experience with vaccines, HIV/AIDS, TB, and Emerging Infectious Diseases preferred.
    • Experience engaging with private and public sector organizations in the global health space (e.g. global health organizations, funders, pharmaceutical industry stakeholders, procurement agencies, national governments, civil society and technical partners).
    • Strong relationship building skills, with a relevant network of partners and investors who are committed to advancing global health.
    • Product introduction strategy, market and end-user research, and proposal development expertise highly desired.
    • Knowledge and/or experience with public health ecosystems in low- and middle-income countries (LMIC).
    • Strong interpersonal and intercultural skills and experience, and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from a wide range of disciplines, countries, and cultures.
    • Strong research and writing skills are required. Experience with manuscript development for peer-reviewed publications is preferred.
