Purpose: To deliver high-quality instruction, engaging in innovative research, and contributing to the development of the law program.

Duties and Responsibilities: -

• Teach and assess courses in Law to both undergraduate and post graduate students;
• Supervise postgraduate students;
• Attend and actively participate in planning, development, implementation and evaluation of curricula in the department;
• Attract research or development funds;
• Initiate planning and conducting research;
• Conduct community service and initiate linkages;
• Participate in development and implementation of the School Strategic Plan;
• Any other official duties that may be assigned from time to time.

Requirements for appointment: -

• LLD or its academic equivalent degree qualification from an accredited and recognized University;
• At least three (3) years of teaching experience at the University as a Lecturer;
• An advocate of the High Court of Kenya with a valid practicing license; 
• Should have supervised at least four (4) LLM students to completion;
• Must have a minimum of thirty-two (32) publication points, of which at least twenty-four (24) should be from refereed journals;
• Provide professional and community service and initiate linkages and fundraising;
• Must show evidence of contribution to University life through active participation in departmental matters, students’ academic advising, school and university meetings committee membership and others.

Candidates interested in the position are expected to fulfil requirements of Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya. In this regard, they must submit copies of the following: - 

• Certificate of good conduct from Director, Criminal Investigations (DCI)
• Clearance certificate from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB)
• Tax Compliance certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA)
• Clearance from the Ethics & Anti – Corruption Commission (EACC)
• Clearance from the Credit Reference Bureau
