    Strategic Associate - Carbon

    About the role

    BURN is seeking a Strategic Associate – Carbon to support the commercial development of our carbon business. This role will perform complex analyses of BURN operations and the wider carbon markets to inform strategic decisions. We are looking for someone interested in working in a dynamic, challenging environment, for a company that recognizes and rewards creativity and initiative.

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Analyse quantitative and qualitative data to inform strategic decisions
    • Build, interrogate and present complex financial models
    • Provide analytical reports on our carbon operations, and track performance against targets
    • Oversee the collection and analysis of data related to industry trends
    • Track policy developments in the wider carbon markets and sustainability community
    • Produce regular and ad-hoc research reports
    • Work closely with other departments to ensure the carbon team has the required information for reporting activities
    • Develop strategic roadmaps, corporate strategies, and business strategies
    • Complete all reporting activities accurately and on time

    Skills and Experience:

    • MBA or bachelor’s degree
    • At least 2 years of experience in a relevant role – using analysis to inform strategic decision making
    • Previous experience in strategic or management consulting
    • Demonstrated ability to digest large volumes of information, select the key points, grasp the “so what,” and present it clearly to management
    • Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English
    • Excellent command of Excel
    • Excellent data analysis skills
    • Excellent desktop research skills
    • Highly motivated, energetic self-starter who takes ownership and works independently
    • Process orientated with strong time-management skills
    • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
    • Knowledge of the carbon markets is desirable
    • A passion for BURN’s mission
