Underwriting Assistant – Sales GB at CIC Insurance

PURPOSE:

To assess and prudently underwrite General Business in commercially sound terms and to ensure that all underwriting and documentation duties in the section operate effectively and efficiently.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Assess business risk proposal (Accept/Reject Risk) on the basis of existing underwriting guidelines;
2. Issue quotations as per guidelines and within the TATs
3. Prepare tender and prequalification documentations as per guidelines and within the TATs
4. Attend to online tenders and prequalification documents as per guidelines and within the TATs
5. Requisition and good maintenance of departmental stationery and equipment
6. Ensure that CIC renewable tender documents remain current always
7. Processing of departmental payments such as dues to service providers and tender purchases
8. Provide fortnightly quotation conversion reports
9. Provide monthly intelligence reports on prevailing rates
10. Service to all customers within a reasonable time

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Academic Qualifications

1. Diploma in relevant field / Relevant technical training certificate / part qualification in relevant professional field

1. Up to one (1) years’ relevant experience
