    Administrative Assistant

    Competencies

    Education

    • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Supplemental training in administration, finance/accounts, audit, human resources management or related area, is required.
    • Passing the Global General Service Test (GGST) is a prerequisite for recruitment consideration in the General Services and related categories in the United Nations Secretariat. Successful passing of the Administrative Support Assessment Test (ASAT) in English at the United Nations Headquarters (UNHQ), Economic Commission for Africa (ECA), Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA), United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV), International Criminal Tribunal for Rwanda (ICTR) or International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) may be accepted in lieu of the GGST.
    • The GGST is administered to applicants when required before the administration of a written assessment and/or interview.

    Work Experience

    • At least Seven (7) years of experience in administrative services, finance, accounting, audit, human resources or related area is required.
    • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is desirable.
    • Working experience within a large international organization similar to the United Nations is desirable.
    • Experience with administrative management of voluntary contributions within international organizations is desirable.
    • One (1) year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

    Content Producer

    Responsibilities

    The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) is the leading global environmental authority that sets the global environmental agenda, promotes the coherent implementation of the environmental dimension of sustainable development within the United Nations system and serves as an authoritative advocate for the global environment. UNEP's mandate is to coordinate the development of environmental policy consensus by keeping the global environment under review and bringing emerging issues to the attention of governments and the international community for action. UN Environment's Communications Division communicates UNEP's core messages to all stakeholders and partners, raising environmental awareness and enhancing the profile of UNEP worldwide.

    Under the supervision of the Head of Multimedia, the content producer will perform the following duties:

    •  Undertake photography assignments as required, including event, portrait and documentary photography, particularly in service of the Executive Office
    •  Manage the upload and metadata of media assets to YouTube, the DAM and other data management platforms, including creating curated content collections and bespoke downloads in response to requests
    •  Edit photos and graphics using the Adobe suite
    •  Editorial and Social teams to select impactful and relevant stock images to illustrate stories and UNEP's key messaging
    •  Multimedia production, including scripting and research, across a variety of UNEP Projects and Campaigns
    •  Production of content formats including Uncommon Ground, news-style explainers, and other products
    •  Ensure accuracy, clarity, cohesion and conformity with United Nations standards, policies and practice.

    Qualifications/special skills

    Academic Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in media management, video production or communication or another relevant field is required.
    • A first-level university degree in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of an advanced university degree.

    Experience:

    • At least two years of experience working in multimedia production, film making and/or video for high-quality platforms. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and other Creative Suite software is required. Prior experience shooting video and still photography on DSLR cameras and audio recording experience is desirable. Familiarity with 360 films and short-form video productions for social media use. Prior experience in the international arena, familiarity with the work of the UN.

    Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position fluency in English is required.
