    Machine Operator

    About the Role

    Reporting to the shift production supervisor, the role holder will operate injection, blow mold and IBM machines to manufacture products as per set standard operating procedure to ensure timely quality assured units.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Operate plastic injection, blow mold and IBM machines efficiently to achieve set productivity targets.
    • Ensure the production of high-quality and quantity products by adhering to the Standard Operational Procedures (SOPs).
    • Spearhead the tool change process and set the parameters for optimal machine utilization and performance.
    • Routinely monitor quality against set standards and report any product and packaging faults. Detect process abnormalities quickly and take emergency action to prevent them.
    • Proactively collaborate with maintenance technicians to achieve zero breakdown and timely repair of the machine.
    • Work closely with quality assurance teams to achieve zero defects.
    • Monitor and modify machine settings to enhance production efficiency
    • Perform basic Autonomous Maintenance (AM) on the machine.
    • Properly segregate any unavoidable waste and put it in the respective waste bin.
    • Thoroughly clean and sanitize the machine as per set SOPs.
    • Use all the safety gears and PPEs as required.
    • Comply with all OHS, EHS, GMP and QMS stipulated rules and regulations at the workplace.
    • Always maintain proper housekeeping of the machine and working area and perform all closing duties as required.
    • Attend and participate in daily safety briefings.

    The Person

    • Minimum of a Diploma in Electrical, Mechanical Engineering or related technical courses.
    • KCSE certificate with a minimum of D+
    • At least 3 years’ experience of operating an Injection Blow Molding (IBM) machine operator in FMCG.
    • Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality products.
    • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
    • A good advocate and ambassador of OHS in the workplace.

    Quality Assurance Supervisor

    About the Role

    Reporting to the Quality Assurance & Regulatory Manager, the role will ensure all the all company’s policies, procedures, and activities involved in assuring the quality of manufactured products are timely and effectively implemented.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Prompt inspection of all supplied consignments of packaging/raw materials and finished products for compliance against set specification and promptly issue inspection reports to all users.
    • Assist in the implementation of policies, operating procedures, quality management systems and programs which ensure proper testing, evaluation, inspection, and technical support to meet product quality standards.
    • To sample, test and document test findings of input material and components and ensure they are labelled with appropriate status label.
    • Documentation and reporting- preparation of raw material test reports, packaging material test report, finished product test reports, trade returns review reports and customer complaints test/review reports.
    • Preparation of certificates of analysis for products manufactured.
    • Enforce the proper handling, cleaning, and maintenance of lab equipment in accordance to set operating procedures.
    • Ensure daily calibration of laboratory equipment’s- Weighing scales and measuring gauges
    • Detecting of molds cropping defects i.e. invisible mold cracks or leakages during sampling and implement corrective actions to improve quality of products.
    • Ensure that all check sheets are correctly completed, and all non-compliance found have had the correct action taken and signed off.
    • Follow up with implemented programs i.e. GMPs, Occupational Health & safety, Good Hygiene Practices, Cleaning and Sanitation etc. to ensure compliance by all employees and other personnel within the facility.

    The Person

    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry or Chemical Engineering is preferred.
    • At least 2 years’ experience as a QA Supervisor within the FMCG sector.
    • Knowledge of 1SO 9001:2015 Quality Management System.
    • Analytical and proven problem-solving skills.
    • Superior interpersonal and organizational skills.
    • Possesses good oral and written communication skills.
    • Advanced people management skills.
    • Attention to detail.
