    Finance Business Partner

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    The role of the Financial Analysis and Business Partnering team is to provide strategic insight and effective finance partnering to key stakeholders to drive quality financial and business outcomes. The role is responsible for providing professional support to the Finance leadership team and Regional Finance teams to deliver high quality management reporting.

    The role holder will be responsible for supporting the Centre Finance leadership and Regional teams with strong finance business partnering to ensure quality management information is obtained to enable the CO’s and Regions to delivery high quality outcomes for children.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Relevant finance and business partnering experience in a Chartered Accounting, Commercial or NGO environment.
    • Well-developed analytical and business partnering skills.
    • Excellent IT literacy including expertise in spread sheet modelling and.
    • Proven experience in budgeting and forecasting
    • Ability to liaise remotely with a wide range of people at all levels and across different cultures and to act with credibility, tact and diplomacy
    • Excellent stakeholder management and strategic influencing skills
    • Ability to be proactive and logical in problem-solving scenarios
    • Thorough – high attention to detail and takes pride in delivering accurate, high quality work

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

    • Strategic financial management and oversight on the regional activities to gain a greater understanding of the regional financial performance.
    • Business Partner with the Regional leadership team and critical Country Offices to uplift overall performance. 
    • Act as a business partner for senior stakeholders providing guidance, advice and dealing with all finance-related queries.
    • Capacity building of the Regional finance and CO finance leadership teams.
    • Support the SCI Finance leadership with implementation of the budgeting and forecasting process, including the design of tools, templates and guidance.
    • Business Partner with key Centre, Regional and CO stakeholders to support on KPI improvements.
    • Provide management reporting and KPI commentary for allocated areas, including MPP and Quarterly reporting process.
    • Meaningful financial analysis to support strategic and management decision making for SCI Leadership team and other key stakeholders.
    • Work with stakeholders to deliver targets and financial KPIs including benefit realisation from strategic projects.
    • Provide remote technical support and commercial guidance on various CO and Regional operational activities.
    • Recommend internal process improvement as required, to enable high quality finance support to business partners.
    • Support Finance projects where required and including the on-boarding of transformation projects into BAU processes within Financial Analysis and Business Partnering remit.

    QUALIFICATIONS  

    • ACA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent, or relevant experience 

    Desirable:

    • Experience in working at a CO or Regional Level Finance leadership role at SCI or any other INGO.
    • Basic working knowledge of French, Spanish or Arabic.
    • Experienced in a multi-currency multi sector finance environment.

    Supply Chain Officer

    ROLE PURPOSE

    The role will work with the Supply Chain Coordinator and the Supply chain team to build the programmes Supply chain and operational capacity to plan and manage programmes resources and assets efficiently and effectively, assist the programmes meet their commitments and deliverables to their beneficiaries and donors.

    By providing support to programme Supply chain on the specific aspects of Supply chain and programmes delivery, it is expected the Supply Chain Officer will be able to help programmes to:

    • Identify significant reduction in their operational running costs through the utilization and allocation of resources and helping programme implement effective recharge mechanisms
    • Improve accountability to donors and beneficiaries through implementation of regular reporting and strong control mechanisms.
    • Assist in the improvement of the quality and timeliness of projects delivery.
    • Reporting to the Supply chain coordinator, the Supply chain officer is responsible for providing efficient and effective Supply chain management support as per SCI policies and procedures. The main responsibilities are ensuring proper systems to control and monitor the procurement, and support storage, movement, and disposal and reporting of goods and assets from point of reception to the point of distribution, with the aim of providing and adequate and timely delivery of quality supplies to meet programme needs.

    KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY

    • The Supply chain officer will ensure procurement, transport and distribution, warehousing and stock management and assets activities are carried out as per the SCI Supply Chain Policies.
    • Ensure proper reporting of all Supply Chain Activities in a timely manner and in line with financial control mechanisms for Procurement and support management of stock, and assets.
    • Consolidate and review the monthly Supply chain reports documenting action points and timelines to achieve them as well as follow ups.
    • Assist the Supply Chain Coordinator in providing inductions to programmes teams on Supply chain procedures and procedures.
    • Conduct procurement of program supplies in line with the organizations procurement policy
    • Ensure suppliers are duly registered and qualified in the ProSave system
    • Support the Supply chain coordinator to provide trainings/refresher sessions to programs and other staff on Supply Chain ERP systems like ProSave, Total Inventory Management (TIM) and others
    • As a point person, ensure timely supplies of programmes materials to various field offices.
    • Working with the Supply Chain Coordinator in determining the sources of supply of goods and services to meet programme needs.
    • Develop and consolidate procurement plans and schedules with various project managers and ensure they are adhered to.
    • Support management of programmes stocks, ensuring proper storage of stocks, stock levels are maintained in relation with programmes consumption.
    • Consolidate and plan for transportation of project supplies to various field offices in a timely, reliable and cost effective manner.
    • Support in managing the incoming and outgoing stock according to the warehousing and stock Management standards.
    • Participate in Award Review Meetings, Kick Off/Close out meetings for different awards and give supply chain updates
    • Support the appropriate storage and physical condition of stocks according to their specific requirements
    • Assist in ensuring all stock are accounted for and dispatched with appropriate and relevant documentations and authorizations.
    • Assist in ensuring that all project supplies are tracked using appropriate variables/criteria from point of dispatch to distribution/delivery.
    • Assist in ensuring all stock movements are documented using SCI documents (GRNs, Waybills, Stock Releases, Stock Cards, Stock Reports)
    • Assist in preparing and circulating the warehouse report on a weekly basis to the relevant budget holders and programme staff.
    • Assist in ensuring all stock discrepancies/damages are properly documented, investigated and reported to budget holders and Supply chain Coordinator.
    • Assist in Organizing and planning for the transportation of project supplies to the various field offices.
    • Assist in ensuring warehouses are kept secure at all times and are maintained, clean, well -organised and pest free.

    General:

    • Comply with Save the Children policies and practice with respect to child protection, code of conduct, health and safety, equal opportunities and other relevant policies and procedures

    QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

    Essential

    • First degree in Logistics Management, business administration or related area
    • 3 years’ prior experience in logistics management in the NGO sector, within country programmes and in emergency response/humanitarian environments
    • Proven experience in all technical areas of logistics operations including procurement, transport/distribution, warehousing and stock management, fleet management, asset management, communications, and security
    • Experience of working in remote field bases with limited infrastructure
    • Experiencing in managing, and supervising and training staff in supply chain
    • Ability to prepare Supply Chain reports
    • Ability to synthesize and analyze information, and make clear, informed decisions
    • Ability to build relationships quickly with a wide range of people, both internally and externally
    • Strong planning, management and coordination skills, with the ability to organise a substantial workload comprised of diverse tasks and responsibilities
    • Cultural awareness, with strong written and spoken communication and interpersonal skills
    • Willingness to work and travel in often difficult and insecure environments;
    • Fluent in English, both written and oral; Local language skills a major advantage.

    Desirable

    • Technical experience/training in specific areas of Supply chain e.g. fleet mechanics, IT/communications networks

    Programme Funding Analyst

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    Save the Children has agreed an ambitious new global strategy for 2022-24 and has developed an accompanying Global Funding Framework to inform and shift how SCA can work together as a movement to drive greater funding impact for children. By 2024, our ambition is for Save the Children to be a $3bn plus organisation, with institutional funding constituting around 60% of this income. Growing, diversifying and optimising our institutional income will be critical to achieving this ambition and success in this area will be dependent on changes to our behaviours and ways of working that mark and facilitate a shift to prioritise collective action, collaboration and embed mutual accountability.

    The Institutional Funding Analyst role is part of the Save the Children International (SCI) Centre office’s Programme Funding and Institutional Partnerships (PFIP) team, which works across the global Save the Children Movement to optimise and align our programme funding portfolio in support of our ambition for children and to drive improvements to our ways of working with institutional partners.

    Over the past three years, the PFIP team has worked to establish quality foundations and drive continuous improvement in the area of data and analytics in order to track and monitor our global funding portfolio. The role of the Institutional Funding Analyst will be to build on these foundations and support in steering the organisation from hindsight analytics towards insight and foresight in order to drive evidence based decision-making.

    The role will support global initiatives across the Save the Children movement to enhance current programme funding analytics, insight and forethought that shapes and informs key decision making globally. The work will focus on driving a culture of collective insight-driven decision-making and actions, both strategically and operationally, working closely key stakeholders as well as functional experts and delivery teams to create global solutions.

    This work will include close collaboration with the other parts of the PFIP team (Market Development; Portfolio Development; People Development; Governance and Strategy Development) and with other SCI Centre functions. It will rely on strong and productive relationships with analytics and institutional funding teams across the members and with relevant SCI teams, principally at the regional and member level.

    In the event of a major humanitarian emergency, the role holder will be expected to work outside the normal role profile and be able to vary working hours accordingly.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Minimum 3yrs experience in data analytics working with a wide range of complex data sources
    • Substantial fundraising and or award management experience, including working within a complex matrixed organisation (including the Save the Children movement).
    • Proven focus on Insight, understood as the next level after data analysis – the “so what?” factor
    • Experience in developing dashboards and reports linked to databases using Microsoft Power BI
    • Strong Excel skills (inc pivot tables, external data connections) & associated tools (PowerPivot)
    • Ability to learn new web/collaborative systems and applications quickly
    • Experience in solving complex issues through analysis, collaboration and ensuring buy-in.
    • Excellent business partnering, communication and relationship building skills.
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with strong attention to detail.
    • Ability to adopt a pro-active approach to problem solving, working with and coordinating input from multiple departments
    • Clear interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and use initiative.
