    Financial Services Systems Planning Engineer

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Reporting to the Manager – Financial Services Systems Planning, the role holder responsibilities will include financial services system management, capacity planning and technology evolution to attain a service availability of 99.999%. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Evaluation of new and existing financial systems infrastructure
    • Planning, design & implementation of new financial services solutions
    • Platform capacity planning
    • Financial solutions technology evolution to attain 99.999% service availability
    • Implementation and integration of new hardware/software.
    • Optimization of existing systems
    • Third-party integration support
    • Internal Process Improvement in accordance with ITIL and Agile standards
    • Change management 

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Degree in one of the following: Computer Science, Telecommunications; Electronic Engineering; IT (Computing) – Operating systems, databases, system development.
    • 2+ years of work experience as an engineer in Financial Services Technology or a telecommunications environment (vendor or operator).
    • Software development skills in Java, python.
    • Knowledge in DevSecOps.
    • Experience in mobile money systems integration or API development.
    • Knowledge in cloud technologies (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Huawei or GCP). Certifications will be an added advantage.
    • Knowledge in container orchestration technologies (Kubernetes etc.)
    • Knowledge in Agile methodology. Certification in Scrum fundamentals is an added advantage.
    • Proven Analytical & problem-solving skills.
    • Must be able to work without supervision & meet tight deadlines/schedules.

    Specialist - Cloud Presales, Architecture & Implementation

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    Brief Description 

    • Reporting to the Manager – ICT/IoT Cloud, the job holder will be responsible for building a robust enterprise model and standards to support consistent, reliable deployment of enterprise cloud assets. The role holder will also expected to be well versed in designing and deploying customer workloads based on well documented architectural standards within the organization, work with various internal and external teams on cloud Implementations to realize the intended business objectives and value.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Analyze and document enterprise customer business needs
    • Document & Manage customer deployments and best standards
    • Define & manage how customer data will be stored, consumed, integrated, secured and managed across cloud and on-premises implementations.
    • Set standards collaboratively with cloud architecture team for cloud deployments and assets, analyze current state and conceive desired future state.
    • Apply architectural and technology concepts to address scalability, security, reliability, maintainability of cloud deployments.
    • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure that technology decisions align with the overall Enterprise Architecture Framework/Roadmap via clear communication and negotiation skills.
    • Conduct proof of concepts, drive technology & product selection, support pilot implementations and support enterprise-wide adoption of cloud,
    • Work across a wide range of stakeholders, application subject matter experts, architects, technology and business leaders to harness perspectives, influence & drive consistent cloud practices

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Qualifications

    • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Telecoms, Engineering, Physics or Math or any other relevant qualification.
    • Candidate should demonstrate deep and wide knowledge of VMWare, Openstack, Microsoft Azure, Containerization & Orchestration e.g Kubernetes, Serverless Architectures, Google Cloud and AWS platforms, IaaS, PaaS, xAAS, Relevant Public Cloud and Virtualization certifications huge plus
    • Candidate should possess excellent knowledge & skills in cloud and virtual infrastructure design, deployment, management and monitoring as well as migration strategies from on-premise implementations to cloud or Hybrid Solutions.
    • Candidate should have excellent knowledge and understanding of established/emerging cloud management technologies including and not limited to monitoring, profiling, identity management, reporting/analytics, cost optimization.
    • The cloud presales, architecture and implementation candidate must understand the cloud technologies and their use to guide the enterprise customers in understanding and adopting them
    • An ideal candidate should possess advanced knowledge of industry best practices in the various aspects of information, technology trends, enterprise operations knowledge and the ability to develop solutions.
    • Advanced knowledge of hardware, software, business applications and systems engineering are required
    • Intermediate knowledge and execution of SDLC is required
    • Intermediate knowledge of Information Security awareness is a plus
    • Intermediate knowledge of Cloud data and analytics tools and workflows is a plus
    • Good knowledge of General Project Management Methodology & Tools

    Senior Officer- Digital Media

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    • Reporting to the Manager – Integrated Media, the position holder will be expected to execute digital media buying across all digital channels while driving optimization and media efficiencies for campaigns supporting various business units. 
    • The role is pivotal in enabling Safaricom's overall digital marketing strategy and implementation by leveraging tech, data, tools, and platforms to drive overall marketing

    Technical / Professional core competencies: 

    • Working knowledge of martech platforms, including Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), marketing automation tools, data analytics solutions, machine learning and AI-driven marketing technologies
    • Should have high level proficiency in setting up and launching digital advertising campaigns on the various digital platforms (Google AdWords, Facebook Business Manager, Twitter, Programmatic Buying etc). This also includes setting up and managing tags and pixels for attribution.
    • Track record of successfully implementing and managing performance marketing campaigns in a fast-paced environment
    • Should have high level proficiency in setting up app download and re-engagement campaigns.
    • Ability to drive efficient ways of working while leveraging on tech and Automation tools
    • Should be able to create data driven media strategy, media plans and channel selection strategies to ensure a high return on investment for each campaign. 
    • Should have a proven experience in media buying & optimization for similar size or larger business than Safaricom
    • Should have Project Management and Time management skills and should be able to allocate daily tasks efficiently
    • Data & Analytics and insight generation capability to aid informed decision making

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Will work closely with internal and agency teams to support development of media strategy, media plans and channel selection depending on the objective of the campaign to ensure a high return on investment for each campaign. 
    • Will be responsible for setting up campaigns on Google Adwords which includes Google Display, Google Search, YouTube etc plus setting up and managing tags for attribution.
    • Will be responsible for analysing our websites and apps on Firebase and Google Analytics
    • Will be responsible for setting up campaigns on Facebook Business Manager, Twitter Ads, DV360, Google Ads among others. 
    • Will be responsible for liaising with all internal and external stakeholders to ensure excellent campaign setup, reporting, optimization and analysis and that the campaigns are highly targeted for each consumer segment. 
    • Will be responsible for report writing highlighting progress of campaigns and how these translate into business results. This guides the business in evaluating the effectiveness of all digital campaigns.
    • Will be responsible for media buying financial administration including raising PO’s, issuance/revisions of monthly insertion orders and financial reconciliation on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
    • Will be responsible for monitor and optimising ad campaign performance data to suggest structural and editorial improvements. 
    • Will be personally responsible for keeping up with the dynamic trends and benchmarks in the digital media category through continuous research and training.
    • Will be responsible for identifying new tech led & AI campaign use cases 
    • Digital media vendor management on a day-to-day basis to ensure campaign alignment and negotiate added value for the media buys
    • Deliver Cost optimization on all digital media buys to ensure maximum value and lowest possible cost is delivered against set benchmark KPIs
    • Collect and package data driven actionable insights from the digital platforms and feeding back into the business for decision making 
    • Continuously discover and propose new marketing technologies and platforms that will be valuable for Safaricom campaigns.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • A bachelor’s Degree. (A business-related discipline with an IT/Commercial bias will be an added advantage)
    • Should have more than 5 years continuous experience in Digital Media Buying and Optimization and translating Digital activities to Business results (Integrated media buying skills - offline and online media, will be an added advantage)

        • AdWords Fundamentals Certification
        • Search Advertising Certification
        • Display Advertising Certification
        •  Video Advertising Certification
      • Facebook Blueprint Certification
