    Project Coordinator

    Project Coordinator CHS/HR/TBREACH/PC/02/2024 (1 Position)

    Overall Job Function

    Reporting to the Chief of Party-USAID Tamatisha TB, the Project Coordinator will be responsible for providing technical support and coordination of project implementation, Monitoring and evaluation, mentorship of project staff, support supervision, and capacity building of health facilities within the TB REACH Vumbua project region of implementation.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Coordination:

    • Working closely with the USAID Tamatisha TB Regional Coordinators, County and Sub-County coordinators conduct mapping and identify priority areas of implementation.
    • Oversee the overall implementation of the project, ensuring alignment with the project’s goals and objectives. Coordinate with various stakeholders, including CTLCs SCTLCs, healthcare workers, community health providers, and local authorities.
    • Ensure timely and efficient project execution within the stipulated timeframe.

    Monitoring and Evaluation:

    • Develop and implement a robust Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) framework to track project progress and outcomes.
    • Develop M&E tools, standard operating procedures and data management manuals, facilitate capacity building for health workers.
    • Conduct regular field visits to monitor project activities and provide technical support.
    • Frequently collect, analyze, and report data on project performance, ensuring data accuracy and integrity

    Data use for decision making:

    • Create an interactive dashboard for project stakeholders to track performance against targets.
    • Conduct performance review meetings to ensure effective use of data at health facilities.

    Capacity building:

    • Guide the design and delivery of training programs for healthcare workers (HCWs) and community health providers (CHPs) on ISD models.
    • Build the capacity of project staff and partners in M&E practices and tools to avail data for monitoring the integration of TB, respiratory diseases, nutrition, and mental health services at primary healthcare and community levels

    Integrate Innovation:

    • Promote the use of innovative tools such as digital self-screening machines, AI-enabled digital X-rays, and point-of-care ultrasound machines.
    • Collaborate with SCTLC and facility teams to ensure accurate documentation, timely reporting for weekly monthly and quarterly datasets. Conduct routine data quality audits for concordance with the TUBU system. Participate in county TB and M&E working groups to ensure representation for the TB REACH Vumbua project agenda.

    Documentation and learning:

    • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to project funders and stakeholders.
    • Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to inform future projects and policies.

    Perform other technical duties as assigned by the supervisor.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Statistics, health informatics, Social Sciences, Nursing or a related field. A Master’s degree is an added advantage.
    • At least 5 years of experience in Monitoring and evaluation, project coordination and capacity building.
    • Strong understanding of TB, respiratory diseases, nutrition, and mental health implementation models, TB indicators, recording and reporting tools
    • Experience working with community health programs and primary healthcare facilities.
    • Working experience in a donor-funded public health program is an added advantage
    • Strong data management skills with proficiency in advanced MS Excel, STATA, SPSS
    • Proficiency in using data visualization software such as power BI, Tableau and QGIS
    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
    • Ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders and communities

    Program Officer

    Program Officer CHS/HR/TBREACH/PO/01/2024 (1 Position)

     Overall Job Function

    Reporting to the Project Coordinator, the Program Officer will be responsible for day-to-day running of the TB REACH Vumbua Project implementation at implementation site, to provide mentorship, support supervision, capacity building, as well as regular monitoring and reporting on the TB REACH Vumbua project implementation within health facilities.

    Key Responsibilities

    Project Implementation:

    • Responsible for implementation of the project on site ensuring alignment with the project’s goals and objectives in the TB REACH Vumbua regional scope.
    • Alignment with various stakeholders, including CTLCs, SCTLCs, Healthcare Workers, Community Health Providers, and local authorities.
    • Conduct regular facility visits, provide supportive supervision, mentorship, monitor project activities and provide technical support.
    • Ensure timely and efficient project execution within the stipulated timeframe
    • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to TB REACH Vumbua Project Coordinator. Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to inform future projects and policies.

    Monitoring and Evaluation

    • Ensure timely and efficient project execution within the stipulated timeframe
    • Continuous tracking and reporting on the project implementation results to inform Monitoring and Evaluation of the project.
    • Update data regularly to inform analysis on project performance
    • Distribute the Project relevant tools and commodities, while regularly mentoring facility Healthcare Workers on utilization of M&E tools, Standard Operating Procedures and data management manuals
    • Participate in the routine data quality audits for concordance with the TIBU system.
    • Prepare and submit regular progress reports to TB REACH Vumbua Project Coordinator.
    • Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to inform future projects and policies.

    • Avail data for monitoring the integration of TB, respiratory diseases, nutrition, and mental health services at primary healthcare and community levels

    • Engage with key populations, including working men, children under 5 years, adolescent girls and boys, women caregivers, people residing in informal settlements, and contacts of children with confirmed TB.
    • Advocate for the scale-up of ISD models and promote gender-responsive, people-centered approaches. Support facilities to identify TB champions.

    Perform other technical duties as assigned by the supervisor.
