    Business Development officer

    Industry: Renewable Energy

    Salary: Ksh 90,000

    Department: Operations department

    Directly reporting to COO

    Position Purpose:

    The main role of the position is to respond to requests for proposals (RFPs), developing and drafting project proposals for solar solutions.

    Education/Experience

    Degree in Engineering/economics or management with minimum of 5 years relevant experience with preparation of bids, writing of proposals. 2 + year of experience in renewable energy field mandatory.  High level of personal and computer skills is required.

    Duties, Tasks and Responsibilities:

    1. Build and manage relationships with key partners across the private and public sectors, academia, and governmental institutions to explore EPC and C&I projects.
    2. Represent Apcon Enterprises Limited at industry events,  identify and cultivate important partnerships. 
    3. Develop marketing campaigns, lobbying and public relations for engineering, procurement and construction  projects.
    4. Respond to requests for proposals (RFPs), developing and drafting project proposals for solar solutions.
    5. Oversee the preparation of quotes for various EPC projects, performing cost analysis and comparison with competitor prices.
    6. Manage client relationships and ensure that their needs and requirements are met during project execution.
    7. Execute monitoring and evaluation reports to clients
    8. Manage the handover of projects to Project Execution teams by streamlining existing processes and supporting them after contract signing. 
    9. Mange EPC contracts with the support of the legal and technical teams.
    10. Build strong relationships with project financiers.
    11. Responsible for negotiation with clients for EPC contracts and facilitate deal closure. 
    12. Any other responsibilities assigned.

    Chief Technical Officer (CTO)

    Industry: Renewable Energy

    Salary Budget: Ksh 120,000 – 150,000

    Department: Operations department

    Directly reporting to the CEO.

    Purpose

    The main role of the CTO is to provide leadership in the company’s core operation which is the engineering section.   

    Qualifications

    BSc in any electrical engineering with over 6 years relevant work experience with solar PV systems design, installation, testing and commissioning experience.

    Key responsibilities

    1. Establish the best possible, efficient structure for the engineering and project implementation team within the main organization structure of the company 
    2. Ensure the effectiveness of his/her team by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling, and guiding staff; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities
    3. Lead the engineering department and operations of the company
    4. Organize and lead the engineering and project implementation team for effective and efficient delivery
    5. Establish and draw suitable job descriptions for each staff/role in the department
    6. Closely manage, monitor, control and follow up project implementations
    7. Provide guidance and technical support for all the engineering team
    8. Support all other departments and staff to understand the core engineering and project operations
    9. Work with the CEO for strategic planning to ensure the company is fulfilling its mission in the future
    10. Work with the CEO for the enhancement of company’s image by being active within the industry and developing partnerships with other businesses
    11. Updates job knowledge and update/uplift team’s knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations
    12. Contribute technical input in product development
    13. Build company’s image by collaborating with customers, government, community organizations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices
    14. Protects organization's value by keeping information confidential
    15. Lead and coordinate bid preparations and assisting branch offices in bid preparation
    16. Supervising project progress and monitoring and evaluating projects
    17. Review contracts for services and sub-contracting works
    18. Prepares regular reports: project performance and all technical matters related reports
    19. Works to develop relationships with manufacturing partners and order stock as needed in a timely manner to avoid stock interruptions

    Account Assistant

    Gross Salary: Ksh 25,000- Ksh 35,000,

    Job Summary

    One of our clients seeks to hire an Account Assistant who will be tasked with overseeing general accounting operations by controlling and verifying their financial transactions as well as undertaking all accounting duties as instructed, authorized and directed by the immediate Supervisor.

    Key Responsibilities:

    1. Maintaining account receivable and payable ledgers, files, and records.
    2. Generating invoices, debtor account statements and ensuring the accounts are reconciled and maintained within the agreed terms.
    3. Performing debtor account reconciliations, investigating and resolving any irregularities or inquiries thereto.
    4. Assisting in debt follow-up for the over-due accounts.
    5. Generating receivable and payable reports as may be required.
    6. Reconciling supplier accounts and preparing payments thereto.
    7. Managing and controlling petty cash for assigned activities.
    8. Performing bank reconciliations for assigned M-pesa till and bank accounts.

    Key Qualifications 

    1. A degree in commerce, accounting, finance or equivalent qualification
    2. Proficiency in the use of MS Office especially MS Excel will be required.
    3. Minimum 2 years experience in both receivables and payable management, with at least 1 year in receivables.
    4. Must have experience in manufacturing set-up; experience in FMCG industry will be an added advantage.
    5. Be an excellent team player with excellent communication skills 
    6. Have demonstrated the ability to act decisively and resolve problems
