    Head of Digital & Mobile Payment

    Description

    Role Objective

    The objective of this role is to drive the adoption of the bank’s digital solutions including but not limited to mobile and internet banking among our customers and in the market. The role shall focus on driving the delivery and adoption of the bank’s digital solutions while ensuring they remain relevant and real answers to customers’ daily lifestyle needs. The outcome of the role shall be growth on the volume of transactions, deposits and revenues generated through adoption and usage of Digital solutions .

    Key Roles

    • Drive the adoption and usage of the bank’s mobile solutions. These include the full adoption and usage of the Bank Apps, Social, STK solutions as well as USSD solutions in their different segments for self-serve as well as on the bank’s channels including “Pay with Equity” merchants, Equity agents, Equity ATMs, Equity Billers among other usage options.
    • Responsible for the Bank’s Digital P&L as well as Balance Sheet delivery. This shall include ensuring right pricing for the bank’s digital products, revenue leakage prevention as well as mobilising the targeted deposits through the Digital suit of solutions
    • Drive adoption and usage of the Bank’s internet banking solutions at the retail and corporate segments of our customers.
    • Build on the feedback received, market intelligence gathered and research on global best practises to champion the continuous improvements and enhancements of the Digital banking solutions including but not limited to mobile and internet banking solutions as the Digital solutions product owner
    • Champion the Powering of the Bank’s Digital solutions to Ecommerce capable payment platforms while adopting the greatest safety standards to secure transactions
    • Responsible for the Digital solutions governance in ensuring firm controls, adherence to the laid down processes and procedures as well as championing controls reviews.
    • Ensure all staff are fully trained and fully well understand the Bank’s Digital solutions sufficiently to consume and advocate for them.
    • Partner with the relevant stakeholder to deliver a Daily Relevant Digital solutions proposal in the market. The solution must be the go to solution for all matters credit, payments, entertainment, logistics, transport, fashion, information among other daily lifestyle engagements for the market 
    • Work with the Communications Division and other stakeholders to drive awareness and preference for the bank’s Digital solutions in the market. This role must position the bank as the true driver of Digital solutions in the market

     Qualifications

    • Experience and understanding of Mobile/digital Channels technology and financials 
    • Strong Marketing and Sales skills to drive retail
    • Excellent interpersonal skills: Relationship management
    • Finance: Experience in managing revenue, cost, profit management and digital reporting
    •  Sharp business acumen including ability to assess risk and appropriate levels of return
    • Strong leadership capability, deliverance, objectivity, excellent interpersonal skills to nurture team members
    • Good understanding of regulatory compliance and corporate governance.
    • Ability to nurture effective relationship with local regulators as well as government bodies and officials.
    • A university undergraduate degree. Business, Technology or Leadership programmes will be an added advantage
    • A minimum of 8 years’ experience in a leadership position
    • Oversight or experience in managing an arm of the payments business for a minimum of 7 years. Experience in managing mobile or internet business background will be an added advantage
    • A strong Demonstrated sales and business growth background will be core
    • Demonstrated strength in relationship management at retail and corporate levels
    • Demonstrated business teams leadership experience at a national level scale
    • Demonstrated Experience with the Mobile Network Operators or Fintechs background
    • Strong in interpersonal relationships and stakeholder management

    General Manager, Monitoring Evaluation, Research & Learning

    Description 

    Equity Group Foundation (EGF) is a corporate foundation of Equity Group Holdings Plc. It was created in 2008 to undertake the social investment work of the bank. It focuses on six critical thematic areas; Agriculture, Education & Leadership Development, Energy & Environment, Entrepreneurship, Financial Education & Inclusion, and Health.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Leadership in operationalization of EGF’S MERL agenda

    • Contribute to the M&E-specific components of program implementation plans, taking a lead role in ensuring M&E activities are comprehensively covered and budgeted
    • Support in the development of project & program-specific M&E plans, including data collection tools and reporting templates
    • Develop M&E frameworks to monitor project performance
    • Work with program staff, technical specialists, and M&E staff to develop and plan key components of the projects’ M&E system and contribute to annual work planning processes
    • Update and disseminate indicators definition matrices by program area
    • Lead in organizational program performance monitoring and review meetings
    • Ensure performance reports are developed on time, reviewed appropriately, and reported on time to internal and external teams
    • Strengthen cross- pillar & Equity Group inter-departmental engagement in M&E
    • Lead in preparation of data and analysis for annual score cards and EGF reports for the engagements within the Group1
    • Lead & collaborate with projects’ M&E and technical program teams to ensure real-time data collection from all stakeholders and engaging partners & stakeholders where applicable
    • Ensure compliance to donor, institutional and stakeholders M& E reporting requirements in all projects and regions
    • Ensure all data collection processes adhere to ethical standards (Develop/ review, disseminate and ensure utilization of data management tools and SOPs)
    • Plan and implement routine data quality assessments including patient chart abstractions and follow up actions to improve data quality
    • Build the capacity of implementation partners and other stakeholders in M&E

    Operationalize Projects’ & Programs’ learning agenda

    • Work with projects’ technical team & stakeholders to contribute to the effective implementation of the learning agenda and data use for decision making.
    • Ensure data analysis, results, and lessons learned are effectively documented and communicated to internal teams and external partners
    • Coordinate a capacity assessment to identify strengths and capacity gaps across the M&E and program implementation team and coordinate the delivery of a targeted, collaborative capacity development plan to the team
    • Participate in Equity Group’s Technical working groups on data management, project management, research & learning as called upon

    Provide technical direction in all program evaluations and drive the publications agenda

    • Provide technical assistance and guidance for EGF pillars in developing evaluation protocols
    • Support the program team in research, writing and presentation at relevant local, national, regional, and international fora to articulate the work of EGF

     Management

    • Line management of staff in the department including managing work schedules, reporting, leave and learning
    • Capacity building and mentorship of direct reports in technical and managerial components of their work
    • Establish systems for continuous capacity building and mentorship of all staff in the department
    • Create a conducive culture that encourages teamwork, development, and open communication among all staff in the department
    • Conduct performance evaluation of direct reports and ensure the department performance evaluations are conducted as required.
    • Determine workload needs in department considering specialization required for the different positions & support for various pillars
    • Nurture talent among M&E staff to grow the department
    • Assign roles appropriately to the team to manage workload
    • Work with finance team and program leads to ensure proper budgeting for M&E
    • Ensuring accountability for resources under the M&E pillar including budgets, systems e.g., DMIS, equipment, data etc.
    • Communicate decisions from management to the M&E team in a timely manner.

    Qualifications

    • A Master's level degree in Project Management/ Planning, M &E, Statistics, or related field; a PhD is an advantage.
    • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in Monitoring and Evaluation of large-scale cross sectoral programs
    • Experience with a Data Management Information System & key donor reporting systems and requirements
    • Demonstrated research experience and skills, complemented by experience in facilitation, close collaboration with varying types of partners.
