    Intern - SDG Cities Communication

    Responsibilities

    • Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.

    Under the supervision of the Programme Lead of SDG Cities, the interns will:

    • Assist in designing and implementing the overall marketing strategy for SDG Cities.
    • Draft, format, edit and post news stories/ social media content, including graphics, photographs and videos.
    • Update the website content, preparing of briefing notes, concept notes and minutes.
    • Assist with planning and producing marketing campaigns across SDG Cities social media channels.
    • Contribute to internal UN-Habitat publications.
    • Prepare an SDG Cities newsletter.
    • Prepare specific content and materials (documents, reports, newsletters) designed for the public, working closely with external partners.
    • Prepare promotional presentations and distribute marketing materials.
    • Assist with organization and filing of communication materials.
    • Assist with bi-weekly reporting.

    Intern - Programme Management

    Responsibilities

    • Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.
    • Under the direct supervision of the (Programme Management Officer) the intern will:
    • Support in the logistics and workshops facilitation in the Sister Neighborhoods project.
    • Support in the preparation of the Urban October SDG Cities and Youth Advisory Board (YAB) events.
    • Provide overall support to follow-up on meetings and telephone conferences with partners and beneficiaries.
    • Provide assistance in the administration process of the SDG Cities and Sister Neighborhoods activities.
    • Support research activities on SDG Cities and informal settlements related issues.
    • Arrange and take part in regular project team meetings.
    • Assist in the coordination of participatory data collection process facilitated in the SDG Cities Flagship Programme.
    • Provide support in the project’s communications through the official social media accounts of UN-Habitat Youth, World Urban Pavilion and SDG Cities.
    • Contribute to the drafting of one-pager write ups, official letters, web stories, concept notes and legal documents.
    • Support the Programme Management Officer when needed.
    • Carry out any other tasks requested to support the Programme Development Branch.

    Intern - Programme Development

    Responsibilities

    • Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.
    • Under the supervision of the Subprogramme 4 coordinator and the programme management officer, the Intern’s main duties include:
    • Drafting knowledge products and working documents, reports and correspondence or concept notes.
    • Mapping and analysis of UN-Habitat current portfolio in the field of urban crisis prevention and response, to support the identification of good practices and scale up of interventions.
    • Desk studies (of documents, reports, and internet searches) related to urban crisis/urban migration, specifically for planning for future projects.
    • Support to arranging for and participation in internal and external meetings. This will involve both organizational and substantive tasks, such as preparation of contributions, development of agendas, logistical support, reporting and follow-up actions.
    • Support in communications and coordination with the UN Country Offices and other UN entities.
    • Draft communication products and events programmes to support dissemination of projects, tools, reports on different substantive areas and for all regions. This also includes the elaboration and roll out of a communication strategy for the team.
    • Support the planning and coordination of all related teams and engagement with partners in projects at headquarters, in the regions and countries.
    • Provide research and short resumes for advancing programme development, review and comment on upcoming tools and reports; draft meeting reports and minutes; support organization of events and meetings.
    • Collection of best practices and drafting of short texts on successful projects on different thematic areas (migration and displacement, urban recovery, etc.) and supporting dissemination and publishing (e.g. lay out or website contents).

    Intern - Programme Management (Land Administration)

    Responsibilities

    • Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the intern's assigned office as well as the internship period.
    • Under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer, the intern will:
    • Provide support in knowledge management including the documentation of lessons and experiences of the section’s land tenure interventions on country-level work, tools development, and partnership building.
    • Provide technical and coordination support in developing and testing land tools in collaboration with partners.
    • Assist substantive and technical staff in organizing and documenting land-related events, training and meetings.
    • Provide coordination support with partners concerning project monitoring, capacity development, and partnership-strengthening processes.
