    Intern - Donor Relations, I

    Responsibilities

    Daily responsibilities will depend on the individual's background, the interns' assigned office as well as the internship period.

    Under the direct supervision of the Programme Management Officer, the intern will:

    • Assist in drafting, tracking progress, and following up on correspondence with donors, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
    • Manage archives of donor correspondence, files, emails, and other communications in a structured manner.
    • Assist in developing donor communication materials such as proposals, reports, and newsletters, ensuring high-quality content.
    • Conduct research on potential donors and funding opportunities, including identifying new prospects and analyzing donor trends and patterns.
    • Support in event organization, including logistical planning, coordination, and execution.

    • Communication: Speaks and writes clearly and effectively. Listens to others, correctly interprets messages from others and responds appropriately. Asks questions to clarify and exhibits interest in having two-way communication. Tailors' language, tone, style and format to match the audience.     Education

    Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

    • Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
    • Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree program (minimum Bachelor's level or equivalent);
    • Have graduated with Bachelor's degree, Masters, PhD or equivalent
    • Be computer literate in standard software applications (Microsoft Office).
    • Have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the Charter.
    • Have a demonstrated ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which includes a willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.

    Preferred areas of studies:

    • International relations, International Development, Diplomacy, Communications, Marketing, Business management or any other related field of study.

    Work Experience

    • No working experience is required to apply for the United Nations Internship Programme. Your training, education, advance course work or skills should benefit the United Nations during your internship.
    • Experience in knowledge and information management is required
    • Knowledge in drafting and managing formal correspondences is desirable.
    • Knowledge and skills in conducting research to analyze donor contribution trends and opportunities are desirable.

    Intern - Data Analyst & Management, I

    The Donor Data Analyst and Management Intern will be responsible for supporting the Donor Relations and Strategic Resource Partnerships Unit in managing and maintaining donor income data, performing donor intelligence analysis, developing data management tools, and designing and managing a donor information and correspondence file archiving infrastructure/system. The ideal candidate will have a background in computer science, information management, data science, or statistics, as well as some experience or coursework in data analysis, programming, and database management. Proficiency in one or more coding languages such as Python, R, SQL, or JavaScript will also be required, depending on the specific platforms and tools being used.

    The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) ,Data Analyst and Management internship is for 6 (six) months.

    The work hours during the internship shall be determined based on individual discussion between the intern and the supervisor(s) considering the organization's minimum requirements and the time difference between the hosting office and the location of the intern.

    The Internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five days per week under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

    • Manage and maintain the donor income database by manually connecting data extracted from the finance tracking platform and project management platform. This will require proficiency in Python, R, SQL or other coding languages suitable for data processing and management, as well as strong attention to detail.
    • Analyze donor income data to perform donor intelligence analysis and provide actionable insights to the Donor Relations team.
    • Develop data management and document generation efficiency tools to streamline internal processes and increase productivity.
    • Develop tools and write code to automate manual data extraction and analysis work as necessary.
    • Design, develop, and manage a donor information and correspondence file archiving infrastructure/system, utilizing existing platforms such as Teams and Microsoft SharePoint.
