    Finance Intern

    Reports to: Accountant

    Contract Period: 3 months (non-renewable)  

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Verification and checking the accuracy and correctness of payment documents and ensuring that they are properly supported.
    2. Forwarding of all payments for approval by respective HODs.
    3. Preparation of payment vouchers, forwarding them for approval
    4. Maintaining of the cheque register, recording of signed cheques and dispatching to the recipients.
    5. Filing of all payment documents in an orderly manner.
    6. Stamping of payment documents ‘PAID’.
    1. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. Bachelor of Commerce- Finance, Economics, Accounting or any business related degree
    2. Professional courses - CPA Part II will be an added advantage
    3. Basic IT and knowledge of automated Accounting systems will be an added advantage.

    Investigations Intern

    Reporting to the Senior Officer, Investigationsthe selected candidate will be responsible for;

    1. Complaints management including receiving, recording and drafting both acknowledgment and close out letters to clients.
    2. Engaging with clients, market intermediaries and stakeholders on the alleged contraventions of the capital markets legal and regulatory framework.
    3. Conducting investigations in liaison with the Capital Markets Fraud Investigations unit.
    4. Preparing legal briefs and opinions.
    5. Assisting in the preparation of internal monthly reports and quarterly reports to the Commission on Administrative Justice.
    6. Drafting of policy guidelines on investigations and reviewing the current legal and regulatory framework.
    7. Assisting in undertaking investigations as part of fit and proper assessments.
    8. Attending Capital Markets Tribunal proceedings and preparing briefs on the hearing.
    9. Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    A holder of Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B) or a continuing student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Criminology or Accounting or Kenya School of Law student

    Resource Centre Intern

    Reports to: Librarian

    Contract Period: 3 months non renewable  

    Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    1. Assist with administrative tasks in the ongoing resource Centre portal by scanning, collating content for uploading to the portal.
    2. Assist with editorial review of the Resource Centre brochure and other publicity materials.
    3. Assist the Resource Centre in stock taking and updating of various records maintained in the Resource Centre.
    4. Assist in drafting letters to institutions and other organizations in the Resource Centre.
    5. Assist in the indexing and updating of periodical records held in the Resource Centre.
    6. Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Minimum Requirements

    1. Bachelor degree in Library and Information Management or related studies.
    2. Basic IT and knowledge of automated Library systems will be an added advantage.

    Human Resources Intern

    Reporting to the Human Resource Assistant, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

    1. Drafting internal and external correspondences on routine human resources matters
    2. Implementation through coordination of the internship programme;
    3. Assisting in management of staff records (manual and electronic);
    4. Provide support in staff recruitment process through the guidance of the Human Resource Assistant
    5. Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    Investor Education And Public Awareness Intern

    Reporting to the Investor Education Officer, the selected candidate will be responsible for;

    1. Assist with administrative tasks in the coordination of workshops, seminars, conferences, exhibitions and road shows designed to create awareness and sensitize the public on capital markets.
    2. Assist with editorial review of education materials such as brochures, posters, newsletters, magazines, books and other publications.
    3. Assist Investor Education Officers with following up on enquiries, confirmations and other general requests for information from investors, other stakeholders and the public are attended to.
    4. Assist Investor Education Officers with maintaining the departmental materials such as the electronic filing system as well as the organizing departmental records and supplies.
    5. Other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree in any of the following courses: Finance, Communications, Economics, Business or a related field.

    Licensing & Approvals Intern

    Reporting to the Senior Officer, Licensing & Approvalsthe selected candidate will be responsible for;

    1. Conducting fit and proper assessments for key personnel of market intermediaries
    2. Carrying out preliminary review of applications for the issue of Debt and Equity securities such as corporate bonds
    3. Carrying out preliminary review of license applications
    4. Conducting research and preparing legal briefs and opinions
    5. Providing logistical support to the licensing and approvals section
    6. Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Law (LL.B), Criminology or Accounting
    2. Kenya School of Law student

    Strategic Projects Intern

    Reporting to the Projects Officer, Strategic Projects, and the selected candidate will be responsible for;

    1. Provide support to Project Officer by maintaining project information on Project Portfolio Office (PPO).
    2. Updating schedules, Project statuses and information on PPO
    3. Handling requests for Information and data from PPO
    4. Preparing/ customizing reports on PPO.
    5. Involved in research to make the unit perform its duties more efficiently and efficiently
    6. Undertake other assignments as assigned from time to time

    Minimum Qualifications and Experience

    1. Bachelor’s degree in any Information Technology related field or Projects Management
