    Customer Acquisition

    Brief Description

    Reporting to the HOD-E-Commerce, the position holder will be responsible to acquire and retain the customers through marketing (offline and online) and understanding the current Safaricom MPESA customers and creating the relevant strategies to get them on board. He will also create, design and implement tier 1 (flagship) and tier 2 events supporting customer acquisition

    The position holder will be responsible for the strategies to attract, retain and develop top of mind awareness of the Ecommerce brand for the customers in the market and ensure that the brand communication to the market through the various online and offline channels are aligned to the organization and department strategy e.g. (on site content, newsletter, Facebook/google ads etc.).

    Customer Acquisition Job Responsibilities

    • Creating a strategy based on the insights generated enabling efficient and effective utilization of the ecommerce digital marketing budget across the variety of the online marketing channels: (Facebook ads, GDN, Google Ad words, Affiliate programs etc.);
    • Development, planning of the content together with the media agency as well as internal Media team and agreeing how to float the campaigns across ATL and BTL media channels across the year.
    • Owning the creation and execution of the online commercial events across the year, working with the relevant internal teams to raise the profile and bring the returns;
    • Responsible for the on site content management i.e. correct description of product names, photos and titles on the website in line with the Safaricom e-commerce brand guidelines.
    • Responsible for quality customer acquisition and retention across our offline, online and MPESA channel to drive revenue growth;
    • Responsible for the definition, analysis and action plans of the key performance metrics that enable strategy implementation and tweaking as per the ambition and
    • Responsible for the team leadership and management of output. Continually sharing feedback and working collectively to achieve the department ambition.

    Requirements for the Customer Acquisition Job

    • Degree in Marketing with Online Marketing experience
    • 5 – 10 years’ experience in ecommerce
    • Experience with web analytics tools (Google Analytics, Qlik, Mixpanel ,etc)
    • Project management

    Key Criteria of Success

    • Creative individual with proven experience in marketing strategies with proven digital marketing campaign management
    • Analytical capability in terms of understanding the customers and create efficiency through the marketing channels
    • Proven experience in execution in the digital channel; including, but not limited to budget allocation and optimization

    Territory Account Manager

    Brief Description

    The Territory Account Manager will drive sales within the set territory, with an objective of driving business revenues and opportunities across the customer base to exceed set targets through acquisition and retention as well as assuring retention of baseline revenues from clients under their management.

    The job holder will be tasked with identifying growth prospects and specific opportunities in the territory; device strategic plans for territory penetration and tactical plan execution including pipelines.

    The role holder will meet overall NPS, revenue and acquisition targets for the assigned territory and recruit and develop Safaricom Business Partners to retain, develop, manage and expand the customer base and grow revenues.

    Territory Account Manager Job Responsibilities

    • Development of plans to achieve set billed revenue and customer acquisition targets in the territory;
    • Increase product and Business solutions penetration through cross sell to named accounts, in assigned territory
    • Ensure revenue growth by growing ARPA in the accounts through up sell
    • Achieve the set NPS targets for the Accounts in the territory
    • Ensure achievement of set churn targets for assigned accounts
    • Develop strong relationships with customers at CxO to maintain ongoing revenue stream
    • Ensure all accounts are managed through well thought out Account Development Plans
    • Develop and supervise partner sales teams’ to achieve their assigned targets and ensure they have healthy sales pipelines to achieve the revenue targets;
    • Performance review with assigned Partner sales teams within the assigned territory and documentation of the same;
    • Establish training needs and conduct product and sales processes training.
    • Maintain timely and 100% accurate territory reports on Partner sales teams review, competitor intelligence,
    • Sales performance and all information relevant to the assigned territory;
    • Achievement of set revenue billing and customer acquisition targets as per growth objectives for the year
    • Documented existence of Sales pipeline and Account Development Plans within the SLA’s
      Achive set NPS targets
    • Accurately monitor accounts performance on a weekly basis to ensure each account meets set thresholds.
    • Accurately monitor product performance and contribution on a weekly basis to ensure balanced portfolio management between strategic and organic growth.
    • Daily, Weekly and monthly reporting of territorial activities feeding into the management report
    • Consistence weekly feedback to the management on the market needs for the portfolio under management.
      100% compliance to sales automation tools, processes and set standards.
    • Drive speed to market and simplicity for our customers, and relentlessly prioritize and pursue the outcomes that matter to our business.

    Requirements for the Territory Account Manager Job

    • Degree in Business Administration/Bachelor of Commerce degree from a recognized university
    • Must have 3 years’ experience in Account management and managing an indirect channel
    • Experience in managing indirect channel in a telecoms environment is an added advantage
    • Strong business Acumen
    • Team player with pleasant outgoing personality & resilience
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
