    Kubernetes Engineering Manager

    Canonical offers two distributions of upstream Kubernetes, and enables multiple partners to build their own specialised distributions too. For small clusters, IoT, and developers, we offer Microk8s, a very popular low-ops, self-healing, highly available Kubernetes. Our goal with MicroK8s is to have Kubernetes disappear into the background, with a one-command install and one-command cluster deployment approach that uses best-of-breed defaults, and maintains itself automatically. For large-scale deployments with complex integration requirements we offer Charmed Kubernetes, which enables people to mix-and-match components from a wide range of open source and proprietary vendors across the industry, with specific architectures on metal and clouds.
    As the engineering manager of the Kubernetes team you'll engage the Kubernetes community, represent Canonical and Ubuntu at KubeCon, and use your engineering leadership abilities to guide teams using Python and Go to deliver exciting new features to thousands of enthusiastic users.     What you'll do

    • Build and lead a globally distributed team of engineers

    Software Engineer - Ubuntu Core

    As a senior team member, you'll be designing and implementing software that runs on various CPU architectures, such as ARM, RISC-V, and X86. You will work on boot mechanisms, bootloaders, storage partition layout, device trees, kernel, services, and userspace applications to manage the system via RESTful APIs.

    Talent Assessment Lead

    With ambitious growth plans for 2022 and beyond, we are seeking a Talent Assessment Lead to help drive our talent attraction process, and bring valuable insights on selecting game changing talent. This is an ideal opportunity for someone highly experienced in running behavioural assessments (interviews and psychometric testing) together with a passion for building talent attraction strategies.

    The ideal candidate will be based in EMEA region.

    The Role

    You will have the opportunity to

    • Provide consultative advice to our Hiring Leads helping them to drive their hiring processes, closely monitoring hiring activities, driving results and ensuring that there is consistency in how we acquire talent at Canonical.
    • Build key relationships with global stakeholders, understand their needs and review and deliver against our hiring agenda.
    • Conduct in-depth behavioral HR interviews providing considerable insights into motivations and behaviours.
    • Develop and evaluate the most effective sourcing and assessment methods to ensure Canonical stays ahead of the curve, in hiring the best possible talent around the globe.
    • Collaborate with our internal Workplace Engineering Team to drive data driven insights, making sure our hiring data is accurate to inform our decisions.
    • Ensure we build a great employer brand with candidate experience at the forefront of our approach.
    • Review and streamline hiring processes and tools to drive continuous improvement.
    • Work with external third parties and platforms to ensure we maximise our return on investment.
    • Drive talent analytics to provide our business with real-time insight, partnering with the business to help them move through their hiring processes efficiently.
    • Bring a passion for diversity and inclusion, ensuring we remove unconscious bias from our hiring process and ensuring our sourcing strategy underpins this.

    What You Will Bring To The Role

    • A degree in psychology, sociology or a behavioural science, or, significant experience in behavioural talent assessments.
    • A point of view on talent attraction and selection from within the Technology sector.
    • Be a thought leader in the talent space with the ability to influence best practice, demonstrating a track record of driving exceptional hiring processes in technology.
    • Experience of behavioural and competency based interviewing with the ability to train stakeholders and advise on how to get the best out of an interview.
    • Experience of psychometric assessments would be highly advantageous
    • Proven ability to build strong relationships with senior stakeholders and be seen as an expert hiring partner to the business, as well as challenge the status quo.
    • Experienced working in a data driven role where you are able to use metrics to fuel decision making and influence positive change.
    • Successful track record of managing projects alongside BAU hiring agendas.

    HRIS & Data Technical Platform Lead

    In this role, we are looking for someone with a background in mathematics or software engineering and a love of process and data to optimise, evolve and perfect our ATS (Greenhouse) configuration and integrations. We will prefer candidates that have outstanding academic results and those with analytics or software skills, because we have a particular focus on data and software-defined automation.

    Essential to this role, you will bring an in-depth technical knowledge of our Greenhouse platform with a solid appreciation and understanding of how this impacts a hiring and Talent Acquisition strategy. You will also have experience of working with other third party hiring tools i.e. LinkedIn, testing tools and assessment platforms etc. This is a rare opportunity to join a high growth organisation where the science behind hiring forms the basis of our process and the hiring decisions we make.This role is based in the EMEA region and will form an integral part of the Talent Acquisition function.

    The role

    We are looking for an experienced Technical ATS Platform Lead to:

    • Own our applicant tracking system, Greenhouse, leveraging automation, process improvement and product development to enable our talent attraction strategy.
    • Bring code-centric solutions (preferably in Python) complex challenges where official automation does not exist.
    • Lead and develop our data driven reporting capability to allow us insights and metrics to make the best hiring decisions as we scale as a business.
    • Drive partnerships and account management for Greenhouse and across other selection and assessment platforms (LinkedIn, DevSkiller, ClassMarker, Thomas International, Stack Overflow etc).
    • Be responsible for how we organise and manage our data, to ensure that we are compliant with relevant data privacy and data protection policies and regulations.
    • Own the relationship with Financial Planning & Analysis ensuring that commercials align to the hiring plan.
    • Bring a passion for best practice in Talent Acquisition helping to connect our technology to our hiring strategy.

    What you bring to the role

    • A degree in a technology field, or, significant experience in managing and leading technologies in the talent attraction space.
    • Excellent 'back end' understanding of Greenhouse, or similar ATS platform, with considerable hands on working knowledge of implementations and configurations.
    • Experienced working in a data driven role, with excellent coding skills (Python) as well as strong understanding of data visualisation techniques.
    • Great project management and account management skills with the ability to drive critical workflows to deliver real value to the business.
    • Experience of working with other recruitment platforms i.e. LinkedIn, that integrate via Greenhouse, with a deep understanding of how these connect to enable ROI.
    • Passionate about building a great employer brand and candidate experience.
    • Excellent verbal and written English.
