    Data Analytics Manager

    About the Department

    The Risk Advisory Function integrates powerful and practical solutions in cyber security, strategy, regulation and controls, backed by deep business knowledge across multi-disciplinary teams, to help our clients take the opportunity to connect trust, resilience and security for a more positive outcome.

    Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual to join our Risk Advisory Department – Risk Services as an Assistant Data Analytics Manager. This position will be based in our Nairobi office in Kenya.

    Main purpose of the job

    The incumbent will ensure that assignments are carried out to the highest standards in order to provide outstanding value to clients and the Firm; making an impact that matters; and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service.

    What you will do

    • Apply data analytics skills to include data scoping, analysis, visualization and delivering actionable insights for data management engagements for the Firm’s clients;
    • Manage and drive direction from strategy to execution;
    • Synthesize client problems and design practical solutions by utilizing own knowledge, Deloitte methodologies & frameworks and research results;
    • Manage projects and maintain good client relationships by addressing client’s needs, managing resource requirements, project workflows & milestones, budgets and billing;
    • Assist the Partners in various business development and firm eminence activities including but not limited to expansion of business opportunities through business proposals and client pursuits;
    • Articulate the findings in a reportable manner to both IT and non-IT executives. Reporting insights obtained from analysis should be understood by stakeholders at various levels;
    • Provide guidance, train and supervise junior and senior staff in service delivery for assigned project tasks;
    • Assist junior and senior staff to grow professionally in the data and analytics subject matter; and
    • Deliver multiple engagements on time and within budget.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
    • At least six (6) years’ relevant working experience in Data Analytics.
    • Proficient in report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communications.
    • Experience in Data Analytics tools i.e. Tableau, Power BI, Alteryx, Python, SQL, R.
    • Experience in managing and improving engagement effectiveness and efficiency.
    • Strong leadership skills both on engagements and in an office environment

    Information Technology (IT) & Specialized Assurance Consultant

    Deloitte East Africa currently has an exciting opportunity for dynamic individuals to join our Risk Advisory Department – Risk Services as Information Technology (IT) & Specialized Assurance Consultants. These positions will be based in our Nairobi office in Kenya.

    Main purpose of the job

    The successful candidates will ensure that client’s and the Firm’s expectations are met by delivering high quality services and maintaining high utilisation levels.

    What you will do

    • Support the delivery efforts of the engagement team in competency areas;
    • Provide technical guidance and inputs on audit related projects;
    • Raise issues with the manager as identified in the area of focus that may affect the quality of work and delivery or timelines of the engagement;
    • Identify opportunities for follow-on work and work with the management to win the business;
    • Proactively identify client needs and technical issues that arise and propose resolutions to address them;
    • Communicate regularly with both Engagement Managers and clients to meet deliverable expectations in specific areas of expertise;
    • Manage information security risk in area of client engagement in alignment with Deloitte policies; 
    • Train and mentor junior members of the team;
    • Maintain own development and knowledge in the specialized areas;
    • Manage engagement budget through accurate budgeting, cost control and profitability management;
    • Lead fieldwork audits of controls and other IT focused reviews as per Deloitte’s methodologies;
    • Use established tools and methodologies to develop audit plans, collect & analyze data, document and support results; and
    • Experience in business process and controls.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
    • At least 4 years’ working experience in systems controls reviews, systems implementation, or other related field, with focus on IT security.
    • Thorough knowledge of Committee of Sponsoring Organizations of the Treadway Commission (COSO), Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT) or other internal control frameworks.
    • Experience with leading ERP solutions (Microsoft/SAP/Oracle), operating systems and databases.
    • A recognized professional qualification such as CRISC/CISA or equivalent will be an added advantage.

    1. Focus on the management and delivery of IT audit and IT advisory client engagements as well as sales and practice development;
    2. Develop high-performing people and teams;
    3. Lead and support the teams to make an impact that matters and setting the direction to deliver exceptional client service;
    4. Deliver multiple engagements on time and within budget;
    5. Provide guidance and mentor junior team members on their personal growth and career progression;
    6. Combine industry knowledge and domain experience to help client identify, assess, and manage technology and data risk; and
    7. Increase efficiency and effectiveness of engagements through knowledge of auditing techniques and by identifying and leveraging additional Deloitte service offerings as appropriate.

    Qualifications

    • A Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
    • At least six (6) years’ relevant working experience in system controls reviews, system implementation or other related field with focus on IT security.
    • Experience in managing teams.
    • A recognized professional qualification such as Certified in Risk and Information System Control (CRISC) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
    • Proficient in report writing, presentation and interpersonal skills, including excellent written and verbal communications.
