    Head, Cash Management

    The Position:

    Reporting to the Executive Head, Product Management, the position will be responsible for:

    • The strategic leadership and management of Cash Management, by offering customer solutions and driving cash revenues/return on equity.
    • Driving the P&L component for Cash products (Payments and Collections) along with the Sector Heads of Corporate Banking.
    • Understanding the competitive environment for Cash Products (customer needs and behaviour, competitor offerings, etc.) and to respond to the consequent opportunities or threats in that product or overall business.
    • Understanding the needs of customers and prospects and providing appropriate pricing and managing risks effectively.
    • Conducting market research along with Sector Heads to ensure that new products and opportunities are identified to meet business opportunitiesin order to grow cash consistent with overall Corporate Banking strategy.
    • Developing and coordinating new products/ modifying existingproducts within budget and agreed schedules.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To develop and lead the implementation of Cash Management strategy in line with the overall Corporate Banking Strategy
    • Develop Sales Strategy (with the sales team) for cash products, to meet Corporate Banking sales targets in line with the overall Corporate Banking Strategy
    • Identify business opportunities or threats for Cash Management products to continually scan the business environment for new opportunities or threats and take action as appropriate.
    • To establish and implement competitive pricing policies and tariff structure to maximise product profitability and shareholder value
    • Responsible for the management of assigned new and enhanced products throughout their development life cycle to meet client specific requirements.
    • To maintain high level of customer contact through, customer workshops, focus groups, client calls, product and concept research to ensure feedback is gained on product offerings, and modifications made as appropriate
    • Co-ordinate with Marketing and Sectors for the commercial launch of new products, or re-launch of existing products
    • To provide training and ongoing support to Managers, Cash and Relationship Managers.

    Job Requirements:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business from an Institution recognized by CUE
    • Professional qualifications in CPAK, ACCA, AKIB or Postgraduate degree is added advantage
    • Professional qualification in sales / marketing 
    • 10 – 15 years relevant experience in Corporate Banking with at least 6 years in Senior Management position
    • Relevant product management experience locally or internationally
    • Experience in the management of a P&L and balance sheet drivers

    Head, Sovereign & Public Sector

    The Position:

    Reporting to the Director, Corporate Banking, the position will be responsible for:

    • The strategic leadership and management of the sector, by offering customer solutions and maximizing shareholder value.
    • Driving business growth demonstrated through Revenues and Profitability for the chosen sector of Corporate Banking.
    • Cross Selling Banking Products and cross-selling of other Bank products in close cooperation with other Corporate Banking Sectors, Retail Banking, Treasury and Digital Financial Services teams whilst creating and sustaining value-based customer relationships.
    • Leading a Relationship Management Team to Partner with the with units within Corporate Banking and the broader bank to maximize our share of wallet across the chosen sector while co-creating customer solutions and business value proposition.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • To develop and lead the implementation of public sector strategy in line with the overall Corporate Banking Strategy.
    • Deliver on the Sector Annual Business Growth Targets: Revenue, Fees and Commissions, Profit Before Tax, Assets, Liabilities and Customer Numbers
    • Drive sustainable growth through understanding customer/prospects needs and delivering innovative and customized financial solutions to meet identified customer needs
    • Develop in-depth knowledge of the client’s strategy, business, financial performance, industry outlook/trends, specific sector knowledge and general macroeconomic issues and trends in the country and other relevant geographies and ensure that this is transferred to the relevant internal stakeholders.
    • Develop and align detailed client marketing plans and drive the client’s pricing and ROE (including relevant drivers e.g., risk grade, industry outlook, etc. Ensure overall client profitability.
    • Champion the delivery of consistent, seamless and trusted customer service to ensure customer retention and loyalty
    • Responsible for performance management of relationship management team; monitor and manage the performance and development of staff within relationship management team. This includes regular one-on-one feedback sessions, coaching, conducting mid-year and final performance appraisals, as well as moderation.

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business from an Institution recognized by CUE

    Head, Business Origination & Corporate Service

    The Position:

    This position carries full responsibility for the credit approval and risk management process in respect of Corporate banking portfolio by developing and maintaining Corporate relationships between all the contributors in the credit value chain. 

    • The main purpose is evaluation of counter-party credit risks associated with the bank’s wholesale lending and investment activities with the primary objective to contain credit risk.
    • This position is also responsible for Overall Corporate Banking customer service excellence.
    • This position carries leadership responsibility for a team of Credit Managers and Customer Service Managers

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Evaluation of credit appetite including appropriateness of structure considering application, tenor, risk versus return relationship, and the evaluation of effectiveness of risk mitigants.
    • Deliver well thought out decisions showing sound judgement where applications are within delegated sanctioning authority
    • Effective provision of analyses and recommendations where applications require referral.
    • Analysis of credit applications to assess whether the credit risk is in line with the Bank’s Credit Appetite and relative to the profitability of the deal
    • Spearhead improvement of service delivery and query resolution including defining customer pain points and providing solutions in collaboration with other stake holders.
    • Oversee the creation of efficient query resolution system where unresolved issues are escalated to improve NPS/CES

    Job Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance from an Institution recognized by CUE

    Head, Special Assets

    The Position:

    Reporting to the Director, Corporate Banking, the position will be responsible for:

    • The strategic leadership and management of the Special Assets portfolio by creating customized solutions and maximizing shareholder value.
    • Management of the Corporate Banking loan book whose exposure is at risk and classified as Early Alert and Watch.

    • Build and maintain productive and strategic relations with Customers/ Relationship Managers/ Legal/Credit/ and other stakeholders in order to drive sustainable and effective turnaround strategies
    • To monitor accounts exhibiting weaknesses or potential weaknesses and recommend appropriate remedial intervention(s).

    Job Requirements:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance from an Institution recognized by CUE
    • Professional qualifications in CPAK, ACCA, AKIB or Master’s degree is added advantage
    • 10 – 15 years relevant experience in Corporate or Retail Banking with at least 10 years in Senior Management position in either Credit or Commercial Banking with credit recovery experience

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop in-depth knowledge of the sector’s strategy, business, financial performance, industry outlook/trends, specific customer insights and general macroeconomic issues and trends in the country and other relevant geographies and ensure these are translated to viable strategies
    • Understand customers’ buying behaviors and needs to develop value propositions that will drive product cross sell and increase revenues
    • Deliver on Product Management’s Annual Business Growth Targets: Revenue, Fees and Commissions, Profit Before Tax, Assets, Liabilities and Customer Numbers.
    • Provide product solutioning support for complex deals or RFPs and sponsor them to conclusion.
    • Identify and market-size new business opportunities and revenue pools and articulate the product capabilities needed to seize a share of them
    • Act as the main conduit for championing to all investment cases for product development or enhancements and for local regulatory requirements

    Job Requirements:

    For the above position, the successful applicant should have the following:

    • Bachelor’s degree preferably in Business from an Institution recognized by CUE
    • Professional qualifications in CPAK, ACCA, AKIB or Postgraduate degree is added advantage
    • Professional qualification in sales / marketing 
    • 10 – 15 years relevant experience in Corporate or Retail Banking with at least 7 years in Senior Management position
    • Relevant product management experience locally and internationally to demonstrate business commercial awareness
    • Experience in the management of a P&L and key balance sheet drivers
