    Data & Insight Analyst – International Program Operations

    ROLE PURPOSE: 

    The key focus of this role will be to:

    • Lead the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of Data & Analytics products/services across multiple stakeholders, with a particular focus on IP Risk (including Construction and Medical), Partnerships, Shifting Power and Localisation.
    • Work with above teams to ensure high-quality data throughout its natural process (collection, transformation, storage, reporting), as well as robustness and reliability of this data when integrated in dashboards and reports.
    • Support the maintenance and development of existing Data & Analytics products/services owned by the D&A team within IP Operations, such as IP MI.
    • Lead in the generation of high quality reports and insights that inform senior management decision making.

    This role sits within the IP Operations & Continuous Improvement team, which is part of the wider IP Operations unit. This role will focus on serving other teams within IP Operations also, to the greatest extent possible. To achieve this, the role will work closely with those teams, other data analysts and IT to design, build and rollout Data & Analytics products and services, as well as improving existing ones.

    This role is contingent on budget approval.

    SCOPE OF ROLE:

    Reports to: Senior Data & Insight Advisor

    Role Dimensions:

    The role will involve liaising with a combination of stakeholders across the organisation, at multiple levels of management, and across geographies. Main stakeholders and teams will sit across the IP Operations unit: Construction, Medical, Risk, and IP Operations and Continuous Improvement. Additionally, strong links with other Data & Insight Analysts, as well as other teams in IT such as the Business Intelligence (BI) team.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Proven experience in Data Analysis, Data Quality and / or Support Analysis, with a strong understanding of systems.
    • Experience in developing dashboards and reports linked to databases using PowerBI
    • Strong sense for data analysis and data visualisation, with a focus on user-centred design
    • Strong Excel skills (Pivot tables, connecting to data sources).
    • Good communication skills (written & oral English), including the ability to communicate and present both at a technical and non-technical level
    • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to develop productive relationships across business units
    • Proactive, able to use initiative and progress continuous improvements
    • Outstanding customer service orientation and follow-up skills
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
    • Ability to learn new web/collaborative systems and applications quickly
    • Ability to work well under pressure

    Desirable

    • Experience in NGO Programme and Operation Management functions, in particular the systems used to support them
    • Experience of working with databases and database languages (e.g. SQL).
    • Cultural awareness and experience of delivering global web solutions that cater for local needs (e.g. area with poor bandwidth, multiple character sets, etc.)
    • Experience in working in online environments, within a globally-based team
    • Interest in global issues and desire to work within a global NGO
    • A second language preferably French, Spanish, Portuguese or Arabic

    Global Common Approaches Officer

    ROLE PURPOSE:

    The BAU Common Approaches Global Officer sits within the Program Quality and Impact (PQI) team. The PQI team coordinates efforts across Save the Children to drive high quality programmes and increase their impact towards our breakthroughs for the most marginalised and deprived children.

    Common Approaches (CAs) are our best understanding of how to address a particular problem facing children. They are based on evidence, can be adapted to work in multiple contexts and also replicated in different countries.

    The BAU Common Approaches Global Officer role will be responsible for supporting the continued improvement of the way CAs are developed and implemented across the Save the Children, championing them across the movement and actively seeking ways to embed CAs further. This role will provide global support to Regions and Country Offices on CA related activities and coordinate between thematic teams on related matters.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

    Essential

    • Demonstrated experience supporting the delivery of business processes within a large and complex international organisation.
    • Excellent communication skills (written and oral English), including the ability to communicate with technical, non-technical, internal and external stakeholders across different seniority levels.
    • Able to think strategically and identify opportunities for alignment while also working at a tactical and operational level.
    • Ability to adopt a pro-active approach to problem-solving working closely with both the senior colleagues as required and offering solutions as appropriate.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work and communicate across cultures, as part of a geographically dispersed team and across organizations and stakeholders.
    • A strong work ethic and able to take the initiative and ownership to deliver value to the business.
    • Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
    • Commitment to the mission, vision and values of Save the Children.

    Desirable

    • Experience with web-based platforms and using information systems e.g. intranet pages.
    • Non-profit sector knowledge/experience.
    • Technical/Thematic knowledge/experience.
    • Proficiency in a second core language of Save the Children (Arabic, French or Spanish).
