    Finance Analyst

     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

    • Develop business performance packs and summarize actual performance vs. budget with variance analysis and forecast of full year performance team. 
    • Drive monthly and quarterly business performance reviews in conjunction with Unit Heads, and the regional business managers.
    • Provide effective insights and analysis to assist the business in meeting the established financial and profit objectives.  
    • Provide analytical support and analysis to finance business partners. 
    • Review IFRS9 model output and generate actionable business insights to drive credit risk management for retail business. 
    • Develop financial models for sensitivity, what if and scenario planning. 
    • Drive business engagements for impact evaluation of post implementation reviews with the initiative/ project owners.
    • Analyze and Interpret data for the purpose of determining the root causes of past figures, financial, sales, costing, and operational performance.  
    • Generate standard, custom and or complex reports summarizing business, financial, or economic data for review and consumption by users, business managers and other relevant stakeholders. 
    • Analyze and or collate business/trend data to support recommendations for action, building of business cases and post implementation reviews of Retail initiatives/projects.   

    MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 

     Academic & Professional 

    Education

    • Bachelor of Commerce (Finance or Accounting Option) or other related business Degree, Bachelor of Arts (Economics), 
    • BSC (Mathematics or  Engineering) 

    Professional Qualifications     

    • CPA/ACCA  
    • CFA  
    • Master’s degree

    Experience 

    • Total Minimum No of Years Experience Required     4

    Support Manager Trade Operations

    Job Description

    • Support the Manager in providing leadership and management of the day to day activities for the team by ensuring accurate and timely execution of all trade transactions for the transaction life cycle including handling customer instructions,  customer queries, transaction confirmation process (observing zero tolerance on unmatched confirmations) , managing settlement process and related risks, transaction processing over appropriate Transaction Processing & Messaging  Systems and related accounting entries processing, reporting , communications to other parties and reconciliation activities for all products and services offered under Trade Finance;
      • Letters of Credit
      • Guarantees
      • Documents Under Collections
      • Financing Products
      • Commissions collecting, Reporting, Reconciliation, Message control, Accounting entries processing takes place. 
      • Confirmations - observing zero tolerance on outstanding transactions.
      • Requisite transaction related documentations and Swift messages queries management for Trade related transactions.
      • Nostro related investigations and failed trades reporting for Trade related transactions.
      • Processing in strict compliance with the various local and international laws, market set standards and Bank’s risk standards while ensuring continuous improvements to lean the current processes and effective risk management to protect the Clients’ and Bank’s interests. 
    • Compliance to Operational risk management, periodic self-assessment on key controls to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of existing controls and highlighting issues discovered and follow through plans to mitigate the risks.
    • Transaction processing over appropriate systems, related accounting entries processing, reporting and communication to third parties. 
    • Manage Reconciliation of all accounts related to Trade Finance products and follow up of all long outstanding items.
    • Effective risk management to protect the Clients’ and Bank’s interests during the day-to-day operations. 
    • Support the Manager in providing guidance for Periodic self-assessment checks on key controls in the department to assess the proper functioning and adequacy of controls. 
    • Support the manager in management of Business Continuity Plans / Disaster Recovery Plans’ process as recommended by the CBK Prudential guidelines, Bank’s policies and best practice. 
    • SLA review, adherence, monitoring & breaches reporting to ensure clients’ interest are fully protected and delivering value added services in accordance to established procedures, regulations & laws and the Bank’s business need. 
    • Monitor all system- issues within the department and coordinate for closure of issues raised to build effective, efficient and well controlled processing processes in line with Bank’s set policies, procedures & guidelines, SLAs as well as other regulations and standards and report all suspicious activities. 
    • Participate in developing and updating of procedures and controls for Operational Risk management within the department.
    • Support the manager in delivery of department initiatives and ensure they are in line with the Bank’s strategy.
    • Support the manager in developing and review of department operating instructions manuals, procedures and process flows.
    • Nostro and Swift related investigations and failed trades reporting for Trade related transactions and appropriate action taken.
    • Support Business and branches on Trade related queries.
    • Oversee Claims investigations and management and any incurred bills processing to vendors for Trade related transactions.
    • Comply with ALL Bank’s set policies, procedures & guidelines as well as other regulations and standards and in the Anti- Money Laundering and Know your customer Policy and or procedures to the extent applicable and reporting all suspicious activities.
