    Investment Analyst – CICAM

    PURPOSE:

    Responsible for conducting investment research, market & industry analytics to aid in investment decision making. He/she is also responsible for identifying and evaluating investment opportunities that exist and maintaining the financial models and projection tools.

     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct market research for CICAM looking at global, country, macro, industry and micro- economic trends
    • Develop financial models, conduct independent business valuations and maintain and update the company’s research library;
    • Attend investor analyst briefings, company, client visit and aid in compiling reports;
    • Participate in presentations and discussions in the investment committee
    • Provide updates on financial market activities in order to right position the company in the local and global market
    • Liaising with stock market traders, stockbrokers and regulators to keep abrest with industry trends, market intelligence and compliance
    • Any other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.

    Professional Qualifications

    • Added advantage: Progress in CFA qualification
    • Added advantage: Associate Membership of ICIFA or CISI progress qualification

    Experience

    • Minimum of two (2) years’ relevant experience

    Technical Competencies

    • Analytical skills
    • Attention to detail
    • Comfortable with spreadsheets applications, MS Office, MS Word & MS Power point

    Underwriting Assistant - Mombasa Branch

    PURPOSE:

    The incumbent shall be responsible for analyzing and assessing the risk presented to the company through proposals submitted guided by the laid down underwriting guidelines.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Evaluate risks proposed and prescribe rates and terms commensurate with level of risk before acceptance as per Underwriting guidelines;
    • Customers onboarding and registration in the system;
    • Ensure timely processing of renewal invitations;
    • Prepare and process debits/credits endorsements for renewals and new business;
    • Reconciliation of underwriting issues;
    • Process and dispatch renewal notifications and endorsement on time;
    • Prepare and issue Policy documents and Renewal Endorsements;
    • Claims registration, Appointment of Assessors and Processing of Windscreen claim refunds;
    • Process premium refunds to customers;
    • Respond and attend to customer and Intermediary enquiries;
    • Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

    Academic and Professional Requirements

    Education  

    • Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or in a related field   

    Professional Qualifications

    •  Progress towards IIK or ACII

    Assistant Underwriter – Retail Medical

    PURPOSE:

    To assess and prudently underwrite Medical Business in commercially sound terms and to ensure that all underwriting and documentation duties in the section operate effectively and efficiently.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Accept or reject risk in line with the set underwriting guidelines;
    • Process renewals, endorsements and follow up on Quotations;
    • Reconciliation of underwriting issues;
    • Respond to customer and intermediaries’ enquiries;
    • Raise refunds for customers and service providers;
    • To ensure proper and accurate debiting and crediting for all Retail proposals;
    • Prepare and dispatch debit/ credit notes, member schedules premium and statements, utilization reports, letters to clients/ schemes;
    • Process and dispatch membership cards to clients and intermediaries and
    • Cancellation of policies due to non-payment of premiums.
    • Review of Reconciliation of underwriting issues processed by Policy Administration Assistants;
    • Preparation of weekly and monthly retail reports;
    • Prepare travel letters on request to clients and intermediaries;
    • Maintain accurate and clean membership records;
    • Maintain an accurate record of all client correspondence in the client’s file;
    • Handling customer service issues relating to membership, scope of cover, premiums and commissions
    • Prepare cover confirmation letters when required by members for overseas travel purposes
    • Ensure that all Retail business correspondence and data relating to membership administration are safely stored for future retrieval and reference.
    • Resolution of claims issues within 5 days
    • Send renewal Invite notices for all Retail policies;
    • Issue decline letters
    • Renewal follow ups and reminders
    • Issuance of Medical examination letters
    • Any other duty as may be given by the Supervisor/Underwriting Manager;

    Academic and Professional Requirements

    Education 

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field.  
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications 
    • Progress towards CII or IIK  

    Experience Required: 

    • 2 years Background in Actuarial Science or Statistics will be an added advantage

    Business Development Officer – Medical

    PURPOSE:

    The jobholder shall be responsible for generating revenue and sustaining intermediary relationships for Medical Business growth.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Implement the business development plan.
    • Propagate and nurture excellent relations with insurance intermediaries and other distribution channels through constant contact in order to facilitate a steady inflow of business.
    • Facilitate timely preparation of new business quotations as requested by intermediaries and direct clients, and closely follow up to convert them into business.
    • Facilitate timely preparation and submission of tender bids.
    • Ensure reliable technical support to intermediaries and sales force through effective business presentations and business meetings.
    • Ensure continuous training of intermediaries on product knowledge.
    • Update your sales pipeline tool with activities undertaken for close monitoring and follow through to meet your set targets through a weekly report.
    • Grow your portfolio through targeted recruitment of intermediaries.
    • Gather information on market intelligence and feed-back on market dynamics and customer needs to facilitate continues review and enhancement of products.
    • 100% adherence to compliance on statutory and regulatory requirements through proper contracting and licensing requirements of the intermediaries and collection of premiums.

    Academic and Professional Requirement

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field. 
    • Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications  
    •  Additional qualification in insurance, sales and marketing will be an added advantage.

    Experience Required:

    • 3 years Business development or Sales operations
