    Retail Manager

    About The Role

    The Retail Manager will be reporting to the Head of Sales & Marketing and will be responsible for segmenting of the retail business to ensure customer acquisition, retention, relationship management, account reconciliation as well as positioning the company as a premium Halal meat producer in Kenya.

    We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Retail Manager to lead our Modern Trade Team and drive our organization’s goal in achieving higher market share in the FMCG industry. The ideal candidate should have strong leadership skills, strategic thinking ability, and a proven track record for success in sales in the industry.  This role requires creativity, innovation, and the ability to adapt to rapid changes in the market.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive plan to achieve the retail chain target.
    • Lead and manage the retail team, providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.
    • In conjunction with the marketing team define and execute promotion/ sampling campaigns and programs across multiple channels, including digital, social media, email, events, and traditional media.
    • Provide comprehensive analysis, and customer segmentation to identify target audiences creating the way forward for the team to the Head of Sales/ Managing Director.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, product development team, and customer service, to align marketing /promotion activities.
    • Measure and analyze the retail team performance metrics, such as leads, conversions, Return on Investment (ROI), and customer acquisition costs, to evaluate campaign effectiveness.
    • Stay updated on industry/ market trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in marketing and advertising.
    • Manage marketing/ promotions budgets, resources, and vendors to ensure efficient use of resources.
    • In collaboration with the marketing team, represent the organization in marketing-related activities, events, and industry associations to enhance brand visibility and reputation.
    • Prepare and manage monthly, quarterly and annual budgets for the retail department.
    • Work hand in hand with the Head of Sales Department to monitor and report on team goals.
    • Analyze consumer behavior and determine customer preferences.

    Requirements and Qualifications

    • Degree in Sales & Marketing, Business Administration, or related field.
    • At least five years’ experience in related field (Retail Management)
    • Proven experience in marketing management, with a focus on campaign execution.
    • Strong understanding on how to fast track the products/sales.
    • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
    • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
    • Creativity, innovation, and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
    • Results-driven and goal-oriented mindset.

    Bakery Manager

    About the Role

    The Bakery Manager: Store Operations is responsible for the coordination of the bakery operations in stores to ensure the production of quality products within the set hygiene, quality, and cost standards, to support the achievement of the store objectives on Bakery profitability.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Develop winning bakery recipes that consider market and competitor trends.
    • Coordinate the daily baking process as per the approved recipes to ensure timely, cost, and quality-conscious production.
    • Implement the customer service plan for the Bakery session to ensure timely and quality response to customer queries and concerns.
    • Monitor the implementation of the bakery processes, policies, and procedures to ensure gaps are identified and addressed in a timely manner.
    • Contribute towards the review of Bakery standards, and coordinate the daily implementation process to ensure zero noncompliance.
    • Provide input into the development of the bakery budget to ensure sufficient resource allocation for the successful implementation of the bakery plans.
    • Manage the utilization of resources assigned to support the achievement of the client’s cost management objectives.
    • Coordinate the purchase, use, and maintenance of all cooking equipment and tools in alignment with the client’s quality and cost management objectives.
    • Implement the client’s standards on hygiene, safety, quality, and price to ensure zero non-compliance.
    • Implement employee safety measures for the Bakery staff in alignment with the set regulations and client’s policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate the development of talent on Bakery competencies to ensure the continuous supply of qualified talent.
    • Prepare reports on the bakery operations to ensure timely availability of insights required to enhance the contribution of the Bakery Fresh category to the client’s profitability objective.
    • Contribute to the marketing strategy for the Bakery Products, and participate in the actual implementation process to promote upselling opportunities for value-added products or cross-merchandising.
    • Requisition for bakery ingredients to ensure timely provision for successful implementation of the baking plans.
    • Identify opportunities for the enhancement of existing products or the addition of new product lines to support the positioning of the client in the market on Bakery products.
    • Implement and maintain the required food safety standards in terms of hygiene, housekeeping, and product safety to ensure the business is protected from risks associated with non-compliance

    Requirements and Qualifications:

    • Relevant bachelor’s degree in culinary management from a credible institution
    • Diploma in Food & Beverage/Food Production/Management
    • Over 5 years of experience in food preparation, with a focus on baking, and two years of experience at a supervisory level
