    Senior PSP Officer

    Duties

    • Develop and implement a strategic plan for Private Sector Partnership in the market, reflecting the country advocacy strategies and global PSP strategies.
    • Contribute to the development of the annual country Private Partnerships and Philanthropy income, including its income targets and other goals, as well as in their implementation, and report in a timely manner according to agreed annual budgets and plans.
    • Manage and/or oversee the PSP budget in the AOR, supervise PSP (UNHCR regular and affiliated) staff in order to ensure National Growth Fund (NGF) projects operate within approved budget.
    • Effectively lead the PSP team within the AOR to substantially increase the funds raised in the market
    • Enforce the Organization¿s global private sector fundraising strategy in the AOR.
    • Oversee the development of an individual giving acquisition program which could include Face to Face, Direct Mail, print ad, Digital or DRTV in addition to other methods determined to be appropriate.
    • Oversee donor development, supporter experience and donor care programs to increase donor retention and improve life-time value of donors
    • Advise on PSP investments (NGF) on the different fundraising channels, bringing maximum return on investment to the Organization at minimum risk.
    • Develop and/or oversee cordial relations with relevant corporate donors and media partners when it is related for fundraising in order to seek their increased financial and other types of support for UNHCR.
    • Oversee the development and maintenance of a donor database, in which financial supporter's private information and donation history are saved.
    • Oversee the development, maintenance, updating and enhancement of all the fundraising communication messages and materials for print and internet-based online outlets in order to maximize the loyalty of the donors for UNHCR.
    • Ensure the submission of regular reports to the relevant internal recipients inside UNHCR (country, regional and HQ level).
    • Ensure the compliance with the relevant domestic law related to fundraising practice, fundraising licencing and data protection.
    • Manage PSP activities and staff within the AOR to ensure efficient fundraising operations meeting expected income growth targets.
    • If delegated by the supervisor, give approval to national and/or regional PSP implementation of activities within agreed budgets, staffing plans and annual plans.
    • Approve UNHCR corporate brand and its delivery for public engagement within the AOR and following PSP global guidelines.
    • Coordinate and work closely with Representative(s) and Communications team to integrate plans as it relates to events, public engagement initiatives, campaigns, communications and outreach.
    • Ensure coordination with programme, livelihoods, durable solutions and other key UNHCR staff in the AOR as applicable, to identify programme areas for PSP to support, collaborate to structure donor proposals and secure donations from PPH partners

    Senior Economist - Field Operations

    Duties

    Strategy & coordination

    • Provide strategic vision and lead engagement with senior management, internal business units and external partners for the design and implementation of research and analytical products generated from comparable socio-economic data.
    • Provide guidance/recommendations on obstacles and possible improvements to UNHCR¿s programming, ensuring effective links and coordination with Field Operations and stakeholders at Headquarters through the preparation and use of available economic statistics, industrial surveys and other available data.
    • Provide strategic vision for UNHCR comparable socio-economic data agenda and lead the overall coordination with the relevant World Bank teams and Joint Data Center and associated workstream.
    • Provide guidance and input to the annual programme planning and review process to support the development and approval of sound operational plans and the effective allocation and use of resources for livelihoods, energy, environment, food security, solutions, health, shelter and water/sanitation.
    • Ensure good communication and coordination among members of the country team, Governments, researchers and partners, serving as a link between these parties.
    • Lead drafting and writing of presentations, analytical reports, research and policy briefs.
    • Participate in official missions and deliver capacity building and training activities for partners and governments.
    • Identify research opportunities and contribute to proposals for research partnerships and funding.

    Data Collection and Analysis

    • Provide oversight, vision and guidance for the collection of raw primary and secondary datasets into final datasets to be used for analysis, as needed.
    • Supervise cleaning of all datasets and creation of necessary indicators for measuring livelihoods and other socio-economic indicators, impact and related. Work with the research team to design a thorough plan for data analysis including production of descriptive statistics and regression analysis for various outputs such as briefs, presentations and academic papers.
    • Lead the preparation of research papers including formatting and creating tables, graphs, and related analysis.

    Project Management

    • Lead the design and implementation of assessments and other data-driven products related to the socio-economic welfare of refugees, forcibly displaced persons and host communities, wherever possible through coordination with the National Bureau of Statistics and World Bank Country Economist in inclusion of forcibly displaced into National Poverty Assessment.
    • Successfully manage all partnerships and activities in the collection of comparable socio-economic (poverty) data on forcibly displaced
    • Contribute to defining and promoting a vision for the use of socio-economic data, particularly in planning, programming and advocacy at the country, regional and headquarters levels.
    • Maintain a strong understanding of the state of literature on poverty analysis for forcibly displaced.
    • Manage data collection activities, as appropriate. This may take place at all stages of data collection (preparation, survey design, sampling, onsite data collection oversight and supervision and quality assurance, data analysis and report writing).
    • Conduct data analysis using econometric programs (R, Stata).
    • Guide colleagues and operations on factors influencing efficiency and effectiveness of programming.
    • Represent UNHCR in negotiations and meetings relating to data and monitoring impact of programming.
    • Clear documents and reports coming out of DRS/Country Operations.

    In addition to the responsibilities outlined At HQ the tasks include

    • Provide the strategic vision for the global technical team and oversee budget and staffing decisions
    • Provide technical assistance to UNHCR Country Offices and Regional Bureaus on the collection, analysis and operationalization of socioeconomic data for programming, planning and advocacy purposes. A more intensive focus is anticipated in a limited number of countries and may include travel to these areas.
    • Provide technical assistance to UNHCR Regional Bureaux/Country Offices on the design and implementation of socioeconomic assessments (SEAs). Provide remote assistance, generally to Livelihoods Officers, including review of survey concept notes, outlines and methodologies, as needed.
    • Manage and contribute to development of survey modules on forced displacement (may be attached to national surveys), skills, social cohesion and/or education, among other topics.
    • Facilitate coordination, collaboration and the sharing of knowledge and experience between UNHCR and development actors and across UNHCR operations globally by documenting and disseminating good practices.
    • Manage and contribute to analytical work to facilitate the transition of forcibly displaced into national social safety net and social protection programming.
    • Lead and contribute to other studies and analytical activities that build the conceptual framework and evidence base for comprehensive, development-oriented responses to forced displacement.

    Campaigns Officer

    Duties

    • Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative and creative (multi-country) or other campaigns/appeals to accelerate income from individual, corporate and foundation donors and increase trust, engagement, and brand awareness.
    • Engage the PSP network in campaigns, respond their needs and support them in the execution of campaigns at the national level, this includes facilitating shared learning and ideas.
    • Ensure high quality donor reporting is delivered regularly for each campaign, this involves income tracking, working with colleagues in the Program Support Unit and the content team for impact case studies.
    • Be responsible for the team¿s workplan including leading on specific campaigns or income streams within larger campaigns.
    • Build effective working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

    Associate Communications Officer

    Duties

    • Support the implementation of communications strategies for countries, situations and special projects; identify thematic priorities and target audiences to meet UNHCR¿s global communications objectives.
    • Monitor news and popular trends to insert UNHCR¿s messaging into ongoing conversations; identify key moments for proactive communications.
    • Forge strategic partnerships with individuals and organizations who can help produce and promote UNHCR content, activities and messaging as well as provide research insights to improve communications; promote the work of engaged businesses and civil society actors.
    • Contribute to the development of news-driven and authoritative content to lead the narrative on forced displacement and show UNHCR¿s impact (e.g. interviews, press releases, flagship reports, speeches), create emotive storytelling to generate empathy (e.g. stories, multimedia content) and mobilize action by signposting concrete steps people can take to help refugees (e.g. digital diplomacy, action-driven campaigns, fundraising).
    • Support the supervisor in ensuring content created reaches maximum impact by developing strategies for distribution from the outset, boosting the visibility of our content on relevant UNHCR channels and placing it on external channels.
    • Closely monitor the implementation of communications projects and adjust accordingly. Benchmark the results of communications projects against set success indicators; build on communications successes.
      Additional duties for news and media roles:
    • Implement communications strategies, campaigns, events and other initiatives in support of UNHCR's strategic objectives, including its need for leading share of voice on refugee and related matters, and ensure coverage of refugee situations in their country or region in global and domestic media.
    • Research, prepare, fact-check, edit and produce professional media and communications materials for target audiences and ensure their timely dissemination via UNHCR's communications channels, ensuring highest quality standards.
