    Product Business Analyst

    About the Role

    We are seeking a highly analytical and data-driven Product Business Analyst to join our growing product team. This position presents an exciting opportunity to work closely with product managers, engineers, designers, and other stakeholders to identify and analyze business opportunity data related to Burn biomass products.

    The position holder will have responsibility for putting together business cases for products in our development pipeline and support the product development process, with the input/help of a wide selection of stakeholders and support departments across the company. The successful candidate will also be responsible for evaluating the performance of existing products, monitoring user behavior and feedback, interpreting research reports, monitoring industry trends with a view to identifying areas for improvement, and making data-driven recommendations to enhance the product experience.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Evaluation of new market potential and prioritize opportunities accordingly.
    • Put together business cases for products in our pipeline, including market analysis, competitive analysis, revenue projections, and cost estimates.
    • Conduct data analysis to evaluate the performance of our products and identify areas for improvement.
    • Monitor and report on key metrics related to product performance, including user engagement, retention, and revenue.
    • Analyze user behaviour and feedback to understand user needs and pain points.
    • Work closely with product managers, designers, and engineers to provide data-driven insights and recommendations for product improvements.
    • Analyze market research to stay up to date on industry trends and competitors.
    • Serve as a bridge between key R&D, operations, and commercial business functions.

    Skills and Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree in business, economics, statistics, or a related field.
    • 2+ years of experience in a product analyst, business analyst or similar position.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools, such as Excel, SQL, and Tableau.
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
    • Knowledge of product management methodologies, such as the Stage-Gate Process, is a plus.
    • Experience in the clean energy industry or working with products that benefit low-income households is a plus.

    Policy Analyst

    Position Summary 

    Reporting to the Head of Carbon Strategy, the individual will be responsible for supporting the development of our business. This role will research policy developments in our current and expansion markets, and support lobbying efforts with governments.

    We are looking for someone interested in working in a dynamic, challenging environment, for a company that recognizes and rewards creativity and initiative.

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Undertake detailed policy research in areas of strategic interest – including the voluntary and compliance carbon markets, and tax regulations.
    • Select, summarize, and present key policy developments to management.
    • Maintain a database of global policy developments/.
    • Prepare presentation materials to showcase BURN to government ministers.
    • Draft letters, and prepare application forms for government programs.
    • Support the Head of Government Relations on visits to governments across Africa (mix of in-person and remote)
    • Liaise with government staff to schedule meetings with ministers.
    • Respond to consultations on behalf of BURN.
    • Produce regular and ad-hoc research reports.
    • Work closely with other departments (e.g., carbon, legal) to ensure all teams have accurate information on relevant policy and legislation.
    • Complete all reporting activities accurately and on time.

    Key Qualifications  

    • Master’s or bachelor’s degree – ideally in public policy, politics, law, or similar
    • Ideally at least 2 years of experience in a relevant role
    • Demonstrated ability to digest large volumes of information, select the key points, grasp the “so what,” and present it clearly to management.
    • Ability to read, understand and summarise legal documents.
    • Excellent research and analysis skills
    • Knowledge of the carbon markets and environmental policy.
    • Knowledge of tax and trading regulations.

    IT Officer

    Position Summary 

    Reporting to the IT Manager, the individual who will be responsible for managing and maintaining the organization's information technology systems. The individual will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of the organization's IT systems, providing technical support to users, and implementing security measures.

    Key responsibilities:

    IT Infrastructure Management:

    • Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software systems.
    • Ensure IT infrastructure components' availability, reliability, and security, monitoring performance and proactively addressing any issues.
    • Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and system integrations as required.
    • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets, ensuring proper licensing and compliance.

    IT Support and Troubleshooting:

    • Provide technical support to internal users, addressing hardware, software, and network-related issues.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve IT problems in a timely manner, escalating complex issues as needed.

    Project Management:

    • Lead and participate in IT projects, from inception to completion, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
    • Define project requirements, develop project plans, allocate resources, and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to identify project objectives, deliverables, and success criteria.
    • Conduct post-implementation reviews and document lessons learned for continuous improvement.

    Data Security and Backup:

    • Implement and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the organization's data and systems.
    • Conduct regular security assessments, identify vulnerabilities, and implement appropriate measures to mitigate risks.
    • Perform data backups, disaster recovery planning, and periodic testing to ensure business continuity.
    • Stay up to date with emerging threats and technologies, recommending security enhancements as necessary.

    Qualifications and Skills:

    • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
    • Proven experience as an IT Officer or a similar role, with a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
    • Strong technical knowledge of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, operating systems, and software applications.
    • Proficiency in IT support and troubleshooting, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively.
    • Experience in leading and managing a team of IT professionals, fostering a collaborative work environment.
    • Solid understanding of IT security principles and best practices, with hands-on experience in implementing security measures.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and propose innovative solutions.
    • Certifications such as ITIL are highly desirable.

    Junior Product Manager

    About the Role

    The Junior Product Manager position presents an exciting opportunity to manage/midwife the rollout and complete lifecycle (from development to improvement) of our cooking product categories.

    • Support the execution of product development projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget and meeting quality standards.
    • Execute day-to-day activities related to existing product management.
    • Updating and maintaining all product-related documentation; project plans, development stage gate documents, product specifications, SKU libraries etc.
    • Assist in managing and project planning existing product engineering change notices and temporary process deviations that affect the customer.
    • Assist in developing and maintaining the product roadmap based on input from stakeholders, market research, and company goals.
    • Collaborate with designers, engineers, and other teams to define product requirements.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to achieve project milestones.
    • Track and analyze product performance metrics, user engagement, and customer feedback. Identify areas for improvement and recommend adjustments to the product strategy.
    • Assist in developing and executing product marketing plans, including pricing, promotion, and distribution strategies.

    We expect:

    • 1-3 years of relevant experience, in physical product/marketing management, New Product development and commercialization. An engineering background will be a significant plus.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial to assess market data, customer feedback, and performance metrics to make informed decisions.
    • Familiarity with the product development lifecycle and understanding of basic product management concepts is beneficial.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential for collaborating with cross-functional teams, presenting ideas, and creating product documentation.
    • Junior Product Managers need to be flexible and adaptable to handle changing priorities and requirements in a fast-paced environment.
