Principle Accountabilities

• Facilitate timely, cost-effective, quality and accurate procurement of HF Group inputs (i.e. goods, services and works), and ensuring full adherence to the procurement policy and compliance with the relevant/related laws.
• Developing procurement strategies that are inventive and cost-effective.
• Negotiating with suppliers and vendors to secure advantageous terms.
• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain best price and service.
• Identify cost reduction opportunities to achieve financial goals.
• Reviewing existing contracts with suppliers and vendors to ensure on-going feasibility.
• Performing risk assessments on potential contracts and agreements.
• Controlling the procurement budget and promoting a culture of long-term saving on procurement costs.
• Evaluating spending operations while seeking ways to improve and enhance the quality of products purchased
• Conducting cost analyses and setting benchmarks for improvement
• Prepare requisitions for quotations or tenders to prequalified suppliers or the public
• Establish in co-ordination with the relevant department and end users, quality specifications of goods and services required by the Group
• Review the supply chain to ensure it is efficient and effective
• Ensure equitable and fair distribution of Request for Proposals to all pre-qualified suppliers
• Manage the annual supplier pre-qualification exercise
• Overseeing the receipt of all tender applications, ensure they are in safe custody, compile and prepare Tender Committee papers
• Supervise purchases, stores management and inspection and issues of goods
• Provide an effective Secretariat to the Tender Committee and facilitating a secretariat for Procurement Committee
• Disposal of unserviceable HF Group assets
• Maintenance of evaluation and performance records of suppliers
• Maintain sound procurement policies that ensure sourcing and acquisition of goods, services and works is done while adhering to the laid down regulations.

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

• Academic Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in  Business Management or a related field
• Postgraduate diploma or certification qualifications in procurement
• Minimum 8 years’ working experience with 5 years’ relevant experience in a management position
• Membership to relevant professional body in good standing

Principle Accountabilities

• Coordinate the Preparation of periodic (monthly, quarterly) and annual statements for the Bank and Group.
• Coordinate the Preparation of financial reports to senior management and the board.
• Ensure that regulatory reports are compliant to CBK Prudential Guidelines and also ensure consistent and efficient process improvements to guarantee regulatory capital and liquidity is efficiently reported
• Ensure an efficient and effective cost accruals processes, procedures and tools are in place
• Coordinate the Preparation and submission to management the daily performance report for the business, with a review and analysis of any adverse movement in the key parameters.
• Overseeing the production of financial reports for all Group entities and the submission to all relevant regulatory bodies
• Provide guidance on accounting requirement (IFRS) for exotic and vanilla financial products
• Ensure compliance to all regulatory and financial reporting requirements
• Liaising with different departments to perform multifaceted analysis and prepare reports to summarize financial data
• Facilitate cross-functional learning programs on new accounting, reporting requirements
• Manage the financial reporting requirements, processes and procedures for capturing, maintaining, and reporting accurate data
• Improve accuracy of financial reporting systems and accounting procedures by reducing cycle times for key reporting requirements, streamlining underlying data sources and standardizing reporting formats
• Provide technical accounting support to the different user groups across the bank
• Conduct impact assessment of new Standards and regulatory requirements on financial reporting
• Analyse the financial reports and information to assess the past, present and impending financial status
• Performing monthly comparative statistical analyses of financial numbers, calculating financial ratios, following up on unusual variances with respective branch heads, and preparing written explanation of the major variations to the CFO.
• Liaise with and close all matters raised by external auditors

Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

• First Degree in Finance or Accounting plus CPA (K)
• MBA will be an added advantage
• 12 years’ experience in financial environment with three in management level
