    Data Analyst - Regional

    About the Opportunity

    The Regional Data Analyst, reporting to the Business Analytics Manager, plays a key role in promoting data-driven decision-making within the organization. 

    Their main duties include creating innovative dashboards, reports, and analytical frameworks to gain insights both internally and externally. They also mentor and oversee data analysts and manage reporting requirements across all our operational countries. They also ensure that data-driven insights inform and guide the organization's overall strategies.

    The main responsibilities of the Regional Data Analyst include the following:

    Responsibilities

    Reporting & Analytics (70%):

    • Create organizational metrics that meet Monitoring, Evaluation, Research, and Learning (MERL) needs.
    • Use advanced analytical methods, including qualitative and quantitative approaches, to discover important trends, insights, and patterns that support informed decision-making.
    • Develop and maintain advanced dashboards and reports using BI tools such as Power BI ,Tableau and Looker.
    • Regularly review and analyze data quality, identifying discrepancies or anomalies and communicating with the data quality analyst.
    • Identify new internal and external data sources to support analytics initiatives and work with appropriate partners to absorb the data into new or existing data infrastructure.
    • Build and maintain tools and platforms for automating repetitive tasks so that bandwidth can be freed for analytics.
    • Ensure alignment of donor reports with dashboard metrics.
    • Keep the Data Dictionary current by adding new terms or updating existing ones as needed.
    • Streamline operations through process automation, optimizing efficiency and productivity.
    • Stay abreast of industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in data analytics and reporting.
    • Explore and identify opportunities to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into data analytics processes, enhancing predictive analytics, automation, and insights

    Support & Communication (15%):

    • Collaborate with Data Engineering staff to ensure all analytical data points, data cleanliness, structure, security, and accessibility are available on the IMS.
    • Provide technical support to stakeholders, assisting them in accessing and interpreting data as needed.
    • Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders 
    • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex data concepts into understandable insights.
    • Support all countries of our operations matters of analytical framework and onboarding new Team members to the Reporting Portal and its dynamics. 

    Supervise and Capacity Building (15%):

    • Supervise and mentor data analyst, providing guidance on data analytics techniques, tools and best practices.
    • Conduct training sessions or workshops to enhance the data analytics skills of MERL team members and stakeholders.
    • Foster a culture of data-driven decision-making within the organization by promoting data literacy and awareness.
    • Educating stakeholders on data protection best practices and promoting a culture of data security and privacy awareness.

    Minimum Qualifications

    The Regional Data Analyst should possess an advanced level of expertise in the Analytical framework, supported by several years of relevant experience. 

    Key qualifications include:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, or a related field.
    • Minimum of 7 years of experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or a related role.
    • Strong understanding of MySQL, PostgreSQL, and experience with relational databases.
    • The ability to program in any high-level language is required. Familiarity with python’s statistical packages is preferred.
    • Proficiency in BI tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Looker or similar in creating interactive dashboards, designing visually compelling charts, and implementing advanced data visualization techniques to convey complex insights effectively.
    • High attention to detail and a commitment to data accuracy.
    • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
    • Innovative mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and experience in presenting dashboards, reports and insights to executive, technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Knowledge of project management tools like Azure DevOps and Jira.
    • Knowledge in data protection best practices.

    Senior Investment Officer - Maban

    About the Opportunity

    Inkomoko Senior Investment  Officer is responsible for the items below:

    Responsibilities

    Management (20% time)

    • Coordinate loan officer's staff in Inkomoko South Sudan, setting their work plans, and maintaining weekly staff check ins.
    • Be aware at all times of key goals and develop daily strategies to achieve those goals in alignment with budget and culture.
    • Work with Loan manager and Portfolio Director to plan and manage the budget, staffing, and Other resource needs to deliver program outcomes.
    • Interpret, apply, and ensure departmental compliance with applicable donors and local policies, laws, and regulations.
    • Ensure all staff under your supervision are compliant with organizational HR policies, credit policy and implement disciplinary actions when they are not.
    • Be a good ambassador in ensuring the organizational culture is understood and followed through by all staff under your supervision.
    • Represent the company in a highly professional manner in stakeholders' and government meetings and events in the absence of a Loan manager.
    • Acting the loan manager in her absence.
    • Elevate important trends, risks, and other notable activities to management.

    Due diligence and Contracts preparation (40%)

    • Respond to inquiries from prospective borrowers, support them to apply for our loan products.
    • Introduce the loan products to entrepreneurs, explaining the requirements for repayment and the seriousness of taking on debt financing.
    •  Introduce the loan products to SMEs, Refugees and host community entrepreneurs,
    • Conduct due diligence on prospective borrowers, including site visits, document preparation, coordination with the Business Development Associate, etc.
    • Communicate all materials to the Loan manager and Portfolio Director, and assist in preparing credit reports for Investment Committee meetings.
    • Take photos of entrepreneurs, have them sign photo waivers, and post their stories on Kiva platform.

    Portfolio management (20%)

    • Offer excellent customer service through daily conversations, correspondence, and site visits as needed to maintain strong positive relationships With borrowers.
    • Work with Inkomoko to ensure borrower success, and Visit clients for monitoring.
    • Track information about borrowers and communicate effectively with key stakeholders about client Status. Actively participate as a key staff in the weekly Portfolio Review Meeting.
    • Maintain a tracking system of borrower payments and contact information.
    • Interact with government leaders, cot.Jrt system, refugees and host communities' stakeholders and others for follow up on lack of payments.
    • Work with the Finance & Admin Director/Accountant to reconcile the lending transactions.
    • Ensure that we are adhering to the requirements of our Kiva, CRB and other regulatory entities.
    • Detailed knowledge of lending products
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

    Loan Management System (20%  time)

    • Maintain and demonstrate proficiency with loan software applications
    • Work with system providers to utilize applications to fullest capacity, streamlining processes and procedures, ensuring accuracy and compliance
    •  Assist with system parameters and design to meet the needs of multiple departments.
    • Manage user security access.
    • Direct loan input (system boarding) and verification procedures for all loans.
    • Ensure proper segregation of duties, develop and maintain work flows for all stages Of loan input.
    • Advise the Management team how to automate key lending processes.
    • Supervise all aspects of the loan operations. This supervision includes posting of payment, payoffs, and balancing, disbursing loan funds.
    • Ensure lending staff is provided with updates and procedural changes.
    • Participates in the review and recommendations of operational systems and procedures.
    • Successfully interact with lending staff to improve accuracy and efficiencies of Loan management system        
    • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

    Minimum Qualifications

    The Senior Investment Officer will be a trusted partner of Inkomoko clients, and basic qualifications

    Include:

    • University degree in Finance or other related field,
    • Must speak fluent English and South Sudanese Arabic. Knowledge of other local languages is a plus,
    • 3+ years of work experience in relevant or applicable field,
    • Experience in group savings and group lending investments is preferred,
    • Strong financial and accounting skills; familiarity with business financial policies in South Sudan
    • Experience in investment management, microfinance, capital leases, and access to finance for Micro businesses and SMEs is STRONGLY preferred,
    • Prior experience dealing with customers/debt,
    • Prior experience in a lending environment,
    • Experience providing business advice to entrepreneurs,
    • Prior experience in Investment management system software,
    • Decisive individuals with ability to deliver unpleasant messages to the debtors and assertive enough to get the debtors pay off the entire debt,
    • Experience in managing difficult clients and reaching positive outcomes,
    • Very strong attention to details and good follow through,
    • Comfort with the civil court system, and previous experience in litigation preferred,
    • Unrelenting perseverance, personal integrity, and critical thinking skills.

    Senior Business Development Advisor - Hagadera - Dagahley

    About the Opportunity

    Inkomoko Kenya seeks a highly talented and experienced Senior Business Development Advisor to work directly with our entrepreneur clients.

    The Senior Business Development Advisor will join a growing team with core responsibilities as follows:

    Responsibilities

    MANAGEMENT & GENERAL ADMINISTRATION (50% time)

    • Serve as a coach, mentor, and advisor to Business Associates (BAs) and Business Development Advisors (BDAs) to help them improve their capabilities and skills
    • Assist BDAs/BAs and review work as needed to ensure high-quality work is delivered to clients
    • Coordinate the BDAs and BAs activities with other department activities, ensuring the highest quality of organization and client services outcomes
    • Work with the Business Development Manager and Executive team to develop annual goals for the BGS department
    • Build the capacity of BDAs and BAs team to reach Inkomoko Kenya’s annual objectives, in particular providing training on matters related to Business Growth Services. Additionally, support BDAs/BAs assist Inkomoko Kenya and Inkomoko management in Micro Business Solutions projects, including training, and representation of our organization in Garissa/Dadaab refugee camps and attend different meetings, i.e. partners/county government meetings
    • Represent Inkomoko Kenya in the local business community, conferences, and other events
    • Maintain and develop relationships with business community leaders in Dadaab/Garissa
    • Keep up to date on the latest business and industry trends in Kenya and across East Africa
    • Manage and supervise 4 locations in and around Dadaab
    • Ensure set KPIs are met in the locations under his/her supervision

    STRATEGIC ADVISING & CLIENT RELATIONSHIP MANAGEMENT (20% time)

    • Regularly communicate with BDAs and BAs to conduct site visits as needed to keep clients engaged and deliver services as planned and promised to clients
    • Connect clients to other Inkomoko Kenya services as appropriate
    • Review weekly, monthly and quarterly reports to stakeholders in a timely manner

    BUSINESS ASSESSMENT & BUSINESS/GROWTH PLAN DEVELOPMENT (30% time)

    • Conduct site visits and client interviews to fully understand business needs, challenges, and opportunities
    • Review BDAs & BAs consulting work that defines the strengths & weaknesses of the clients
    • Assist BDAs & BAs to implement recommendations of businesses and help clients to navigate. challenges, make sound business decisions and achieve their business/growth goals
    • Manage the schedule and delivery of services throughout client engagements
    • Regularly track and report on the progress of client work and project deliverables

    Minimum Qualifications

    We are looking for candidates who will navigate fast-paced and resource-constrained environments with enthusiasm, patience, a sense of humor, and imagination.

    The ideal candidate will fulfill the following requirements:

    • 3+ years of work experience in relevant or applicable field
    • Experience in consulting, business planning, and providing business advice
    • Excellent computer skills, especially with MS Excel and Word
    • Good written and oral communications skills
    • Good presentation and training skills
    • Shows perseverance, personal integrity, and critical thinking skills
    • Must speak fluent English and Swahili; knowledge of other languages i.e. Arabic, Somali is an added advantage
    • Must be able to legally work in Kenya
    • Bachelor Degree in Business Administration/Accounting or related field
