    Network Support Administrator

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    As a Network Support Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our company's network infrastructure, ensuring its smooth operation and maximum efficiency. Your role will involve troubleshooting network issues, configuring network hardware and software, and providing technical support to end-users. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration and a passion for delivering exceptional customer service.

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
    • Monitor network performance and ensure maximum network uptime.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, including connectivity problems, network outages, and performance bottlenecks.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and support network infrastructure projects.
    • Perform network security assessments and implement necessary measures to protect the company's network from unauthorized access and data breaches.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights to ensure network security and data integrity.
    • Provide technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting network connectivity issues and assisting with network-related software installations.
    • Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
    • Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in network technology and make recommendations for network improvements and upgrades.
    • Collaborate with vendors and service providers to resolve network-related issues and ensure timely delivery of services.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • University Graduate- computer science; Information Technology or a related field.
    • Industry certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are a plus

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Proven experience as a network support administrator or a similar role.
    • In-depth knowledge of network protocols, routing protocols, and network security principles.
    • Strong understanding of network troubleshooting methodologies and tools.
    • Proficient in network hardware and software configuration and management.
    • Experience with network monitoring and performance analysis tools.
    • 3- 5 years’ working experience in an insurance company.
    • Industry certifications such as CCNA or CCNP are a plus

    Information Technology Manager

    PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

    The Information Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the IT department’s daily operations, managing IT projects, and ensuring that the technological infrastructure supports the company’s strategic objectives. This role involves working closely with other departments to develop and implement innovative IT solutions that enhance efficiency and improve customer service within AIG Kenya Insurance Company Limited.

    PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    IT Strategy and Planning:

    • Develop and implement the IT strategy aligned with business goals.
    • Participate in strategic planning initiatives and assess technology trends that can benefit the company.

    Production support integration and management

    • Support production of all application modules of Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Customer Service and any other auxiliary supporting applications.
    • Working with business and Finance departments to support monthly and quarterly production of Production and regulatory reports.

    Project Management:

    • Manage IT projects from conception to implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
    • Coordinate with various departments to gather requirements and propose effective solutions.

    Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor the IT team, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
    • Manage performance, conduct evaluations, and provide professional development opportunities for team members.

    Budget Management:

    • Prepare and manage the IT budget, ensuring effective allocation of resources.
    • Evaluate and optimize costs associated with technology investments.

    Technical Oversight:

    • Ensure the security and integrity of the IT systems and data.
    • Oversee the maintenance and upgrading of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and software applications.

    Vendor Management:

    • Manage relationships with external technology vendors and service providers.
    • Working with the Underwriting system vendor so that all tickets requested are processed and dealt with according to user requirements and practicability of system.
    • Negotiate contracts and ensure that service levels are met.

    Applications Development & Maintenance:

    • Interaction with business and analysis of system requirements to formulate business requirement for ticket opening to reduce reworks. Follow up and manage assigned tickets keeping of KPIs according to prescribed standards.

    Regulatory Compliance:

    • Ensure that the company’s IT practices comply with legal and regulatory requirements specific to the insurance industry.
    • Stay updated on relevant data protection regulations and implement necessary policies.

    Performance Monitoring:

    • Analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement within IT operations.
    • Prepare regular reports for senior management on IT performance and project statuses.

    DRP and BCP

    • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans, conducting regular test and exercises to ensure readiness in liaison with the Group IT Teams.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in IT management, participating in training, conferences and professional development activities.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in a computer field
    • Relevant IT certifications (CCNA)
    • Project Management qualifications/experience will be an added advantage

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Five or more years in IT work experience
    • Working knowledge of common business systems
    • Working knowledge of common General Insurance system

    • Understanding of complex information and requirements
    • Ability to explain complex systems in simple terms.
