Global Programs for Research and Training is registered as an international NGO in Kenya, wholly owned and affiliated to the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).
The Ministry of Health – National AIDS & STI Control Program (NASCOP) and University of California San Francisco–Global Programs, and Centers for Disease Control are implementing Sentinel Surveillance of HIV Associated Mortality at selected mortuaries in Kenya. The main objective is to establish a mortuary-based sentinel surveillance system for HIV in Kenya. Specifically, the surveillance seeks to determine HIV-positivity among cadavers at sampled mortuaries using minimally invasive OraQuick, monitor the burden and trends in HIV-associated mortality in Kenya and use the surveillance results to calibrate and validate national and subnational estimates of HIV-associated mortality.
Global Programs for Research and Training is seeking qualified research assistants to be based at the selected sentinel sites. These positions will require three-months commitment.
The Research Assistants will work under the direct supervision of the study coordinator and overall supervision of the principal investigators.

The Research Assistants (Data Abstraction) will work under the direct supervision of the study coordinator and overall supervision of the principal investigators.

The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) through its affiliate international NGO Global Programs for Research and Training (GP) is engaged in several projects in Tanzania, Namibia, Kenya, the Caribbean region, Uganda, and Burundi that are funded by the U.S. Government to provide technical assistance to the Ministry of Health and its partners. The Health Information Systems (HIS) that are used in these projects need to be deployed, secured, improved, and maintained by a fully qualified and experienced server administrator.
Under the supervision of the Information, Communication & Technology (ICT) Manager the Regional Linux Server Administrator will be in charge of administering and maintaining the Linux installations for UCSF GSI Projects in Tanzania, Namibia, Uganda, Kenya, South Africa, Cambodia, USA and Jamaica.
