    Qualitative Research Assistant, (RE-Advertisement) (9 Positions))

    AD/4/46/22 - (9 POSTS) 

    The Position

    Reporting to the Qualitative Lead in consultation with the Principal Investigator and the Study Coordinator, the Qualitative Research Assistant (QRA) will be responsible for field data collection, quality control and uploading onto the set data management platforms. While working at the assigned county and in the allocated study sites, the QRA will be expected to work closely with other County Health Care Workers, Study Lead, IT Officers, Data Manager and other field staff working in other study counties. The QRA will perform tracking of all study data and undertake data verification exercises on a daily basis to ensure accuracy and consistency of the
    data before submission onto the data management portals. The QRA will also address all fieldrelated data queries when they are raised.

    Responsibilities

    • Ensure availability of Qualitative data collection tools at the study sites.
    • Maintain copies of Qualitative data collection forms (ensuring accurate updating as needed) and support documentation for data management.
    • Ensure study data is well captured and entered into project tools.
    • Monitor performance and quality control plans to identify gaps and inform study team.
    • Assist with compilation of timely, accurate and complete study data.
    • Provide study reports relating to implementation of study protocol.
    • Conduct routine Qualitative data quality assurance (RDQA) together with Study Coordinator.
    • Participate in project data and performance reviews as required with the study team.
    • Ensure field Qualitative data collection and management procedures have set timelines and meet established deadlines.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the Study Coordinator and the Principal Investigator.

    Required Academic Qualifications

    • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Anthropology or related field.
    • Knowledge of qualitative analysis methods using software such as Atlas and NVIVO
    • ICT skills will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • At least two (2) years relevant experience working in a health Institution and or participation in health research.
    • Strong qualitative analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
    • Adept at queries, report writing and presenting findings
    • Experience in electronic data collection using Open Data Kit (ODK)
    • Experience in qualitative data collection in a community-based project
    • Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
    • Willingness and ability to work in either Kitui, Kakamega or Uasin Gishu Counties
    • Available for deployment immediately

    Service Provision Assessment Research Assistant (SPARA) (RE-Advertisement) (9 Positions)

    The Position

    • Experience working in a health institution and or participation in health research.

    LMS Manager, Health Strat CDC MESIS Project (RE-Advertisement)

    The Position

    Reporting to the E-Learning Coordinator and Sub-Recipient Project Director, the LMS Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the teaching and learning processes are possible through the Moodle LMS and build capacity for users (learners, technical support officers, course and category administrators, instructors and school administrators) to maximize the benefits of the LMS.

    Responsibilities

    • Provide technical support to ensure users get the most out of the LMS applications and features and build capacity for technical support officers to handle the everyday LMS logistical requirements and processes.
    • Maintain the Learning Management System to ensure optimal functionality and its
    • website to ensure a suitable look and feel and current and updated front pages
    • Maintain accurate LMS records and analyze Big Data to gauge effectiveness of trainings and provide advisory reports to the management
    • Auditing of compliance of LMS tasks and activities to the University policies and procedures
    • Assign roles and responsibilities to team members and corporate clients and define user roles.
    • Review eLearning content before it is accessed by the target audience to ensure it meets the agreed organizational standards.
    • Make consultations with other internal and external teams in order to implement the best learning practices across the LMS
    • Keep track of the freshly uploaded relevant courses, materials, and workshops within the LCMS and monitor for any issues in access and navigational configurations.
    • Recognize and resolve the issues that may appear when it comes to course design, its configuration or infrastructure.
    • Make sure that the LMS issues are resolved properly and fast to fix bugs and unexpected errors.
    • Any other duties that may be assigned by the e-Learning Coordinator and the Subrecipient Project Director.

    Required Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related/equivalent field.
    • A Master’s degree is an added advantage.

    Experience

    • At least five (5) years of relevant experience
    • Previous experience of a Learning Management System
    • Familiarity with the compliance requirements of an academic institution environment
    • Understanding of conversion process and tools for online content

    Senior Open MRS / React JS Developer, (RE-Advertisement)

    The Position

    Reporting to the HIS Software Development Technical Lead in consultation with the Principal Investigator, the Senior OpenMRS/ReactJS Developer shall be responsible for ensuring the alignment of web design and user experience requirements, optimizing web pages for maximum efficiency and maintaining consistency across all pages. He or she will be required to work in team alongside with Backend Developers, UX Designers, Business analysts to ensure project requirements are met consistently. The developer shall also ensure that the different software developed conforms to country software development standards by overseeing business analyst team conducting rigorous diagnosis, tests, code debugging, and technical documentation through reference manuals. The developer must be able to demonstrate his or her skills and show proof of their OpenMRS work.

    Responsibilities

    • Work with HIS business analysts and developers to design software solutions by studying information needs; systems flow, datusage, and work processes while adhering to the software development lifecycle
    • Work with UX Developer to determine the structure and design of web pages, ensuring user experience determines design choices
    • Develop features to enhance the user experience, with the right balance between functional and aesthetic design.
    • Optimize web pages for maximum speed and scalability
    • Develop OHRI program workflows from datcollection forms, clinical dashboards with decision support summaries, monitoring and clinical reports
    • Work with HIS business analysts, developers, and IT support staff to support the piloting, rollout and maintenance of HIS systems in public health facilities.
    • Work with HIS business analysts and developers to investigate, analyse and make recommendations to management regarding technology improvements, upgrades and modifications
    • Work with HIS business analysts and project managers to analyse user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints.
    • Work with HIS business analysts and developers to prepare reference materials for end and technical users by writing operating instructions, flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, charts, code comments and clear code
    • Undertake such other tasks within the scope of the role as directed by leadership from time to time.

    Required Academic Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in either Software Engineering; Computer Science or Health Informatics and minimum of three (3) years’ experience in software development for health information systems

    OR

    • Diploma in either Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Information Technology and minimum of five (5) years’ experience in software development for health information systems
    • Certification on information systems development will be an added advantage.

    Experience

    • minimum of five (5) years of experience using Java, Spring, Hibernate, ReactJs, TypeScript as software developer
    • Ability to meet deadlines against multiple priorities and schedules, as well as the ability to manage scope creep and immediately alert leadership of issues with timelines
    • Ability to speak to high level leadership who may need technical descriptions and developments translated to ease understanding and acceptance
    • Advanced experience in developing data-driven applications utilizing significant relational database engines as part of the overall application architecture (experience with any or all of the following highly desirable: PostgreSQL, MySQL)

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities

    • Working experience using Java, Spring, Hibernate, HTML, CSS, JavaScript and ReactJS, Git, Restful web services, Agile methodology, Maven,
    • Advanced knowledge and demonstrable skill with popular open source programming languages (must include JavaScript)
    • Proficiency developing and troubleshooting complex software systems that run in mixed-environments including Linux, Unix and/or Windows on desktop, server, tablet,and mobile systems
