    Product Manager - Payments

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Take charge of the product vision and plan the roadmap for implementing innovative payment solutions for Wasoko’s customers across the African continent.
    • Liaise, negotiate and partner with mobile network operators, banks and payment aggregators to get the most performant and cost-effective payment integrations for each of Wasoko’s local markets.
    • Run frequent field trips and in-person user research to deepen your understanding of the target personas and how they prefer to pay and what it would require to get them to pay digitally rather than in cash.
    • Lead sprint execution in collaboration with engineering management.
    • Communicate & coordinate diligently with technology stakeholders.
    • Plan and orchestrate feature releases in collaboration with Product Marketing.
    • Measure & report success on implementations.

    Requirements:

    The ideal candidate has ≥ 5 years of experience in designing & implementing, and/or integrating third-party software for

    • Mobile money payments
    • Mobile wallets
    • Mobile banking
    • Loan disbursements and collections

    in the context of small business software solutions for developing countries or emerging markets. In-depth experience with

    • low connectivity environments
    • low-quality smartphones and feature phones

    In addition, the ideal candidate possesses the following skills, traits & qualifications:

    • University degree in Business, Computer Science and/or relevant equivalent experience
    • Expert in agile product management practices and tools
    • Experienced in developing applications for low-end devices and poor connectivity environments
    • Excellent verbal & written communication skills
    • Diligent and forthcoming collaborator across multi-disciplinary team

    Product Analyst

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Partner with product and engineering to add analytics tracking to new product features.
    • Create product performance reports (e.g., funnel analysis, feature usage) for new and existing features.
    • Monitor the performance of key user flows and make recommendations to improve success rates.
    • Partner with product and design teams to conduct quantitative and qualitative user and competitive research.
    • Set up and conduct product experiments and A/B tests.

    Requirements:

    • 1-2 years of product-focused data analysis and quantitative research experience.
    • Very strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
    • Knowledgeable in one or more of Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Big Query, and Firebase.
    • Strong English is written and verbal communication skills.
    • Able to handle multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.
    • Knowledge of SQL, Data Studio, Tableau, Google Optimize, and Google Tag Manager is a plus.
    • Knowledge of and experience with user-centred design methodology is a plus.

    Security and Safety Associate

    About the Role

    This position will lead to the development of Security & Safety Associate who will support coordination of quality, health, safety and environmental activities in the organization. The candidate selected in this role will work closely with teams to ensure timely resolution of HSSE. The role will also seek to design, implement, and maintain process changes required to achieve workplace health and safety regulatory standards.

    Reporting to: HSSE Manager

    Roles and Responsibilities

    • Participate in the assessment, design, implementation and maintenance of process changes required to achieve and maintain standards set by workplace safety regulatory bodies.
    • Participate in the assessment, design, implementation and maintenance of process changes required to achieve and maintain standards set by environmental regulatory bodies.
    • Support operational teams to implement workplace organization (5S). Coach operational team members on 5S and innovative improvements.
    • Coordinate all workplace audit inspections and the collection, analysis, reporting and development of HSSE Corrective Actions & Preventive Actions (CAPA) across all sites.
    • Coordinate with operational teams to ensure timely resolution of HSSE CAPA.
    • Coordinate execution of HSSE activities relating to fire preparedness, accident & incident preparedness and employee wellness.
    • Coordinate HSSE learning and competence across operational teams by facilitating training sessions, safety inductions and toolbox talks.
    • Assist in adherence and incremental improvement to waste management procedures.
    • Maintain and improve HSSE source documents. Maintain all HSSE records including general registers, training records etc.
    • Closely collaborate with operational teams on all matters HSSE and ensure their adherence to internal and external standards.
    • Support in coordination of employee welfare activities such as implementation of deworming and vaccination sessions.
    • Support in implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company’s HSSE system in line with the prevailing legislation and company directives.
    • Conduct regular risk assessments to ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented, especially for high risk teams and areas.

    Requirements

    • A qualification in occupational H&S – eg Security/Health and Safety Degree, Diploma, NEBOSH National Diploma/ Certificate).
    • 0-2 years of experience in quality, health, safety and environment related work preferably in a warehouse setup.
    • Proficiency in MS packages (word, excel, powerpoint).
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Previous experience in a H&S role within a logistics / distribution business.
    • A good level of knowledge of transport and warehousing operations.
    • Great leadership abilities – able to drive the H&S agenda through people.
    • Strong knowledge of relevant legislation and associated H&S technical standards.
    • Flexibility with working hours and the ability to travel to other sites across Kenya as required.
