    Functional Testing Lead

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy within the Technology Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Posting Description

    Reporting to Senior Manager – Quality Assurance, the position holder will will lead the development and implementation of testing strategy and frameworks in Software functional testing and ensure solutions delivered to the customers meet the desired user specifications; ensuring all bugs are identified and resolved before product launch leading to zero revenue losses and customer impact

    Job Responsibilities

    • Define and drive the software quality strategy and roadmap in functional testing
    • Accountable for building and leading the full functional testing team
    • Drive digital transformation in functional testing to achieve higher levels of competency and efficiency.
    • Engage with the stakeholders in creating testing schedules and manage the functional testing teams to execute within the planned timelines
    • Provides direction for the functional testing team, ensuring that activities of the team are aligned with all stakeholders.
    • Accountable for managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets for testing environments for all systems and testing tools
    • Accountable for end to end budgeting, implementation and management of  fully functional test environments for all IT systems ensuring stability of all test environments
    • Accountable for setting up, administration and maintaining tools for test management
    • Define suitable metrics for measuring test progress and evaluation of the quality of the testing process and products
    • Accountable for setting up quality gates and enforcing adherence to these gates
    • Accountability in test data management
    • Accountable for validation of quality of all releases and fully accountable for product readiness to production
    • Lead programs to increase the quality of delivery
    • Perform & provide guidance & mentoring on Functional Testing, Black Box Testing, Data Driven Testing, System Testing and Regression Testing and Supporting User Acceptance Testing
    • Evaluate, review and if appropriate, implement recommendations for improvements to existing Test Life Cycle procedures and documentation

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor of Science Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Development or related subject.
    • Must have ISTQB Certification
    • 5  years + experience in software testing in a busy IT environment
    • Strong understanding of the software Testing Life cycle
    • Experience in managing large test teams
    • Ability to effectively manage competing resources and priorities
    • Knowledge of Acceptance Test Driven Development
    • Experience in functional testing and use of test management tools
    • Experience in Software Engineering methodologies including Agile, Micro-services architecture.
    • Strong risk identification and mitigation planning skills
    • Strong leadership skills

    Non - Functional Testing Lead

    • Develop software quality strategy and frameworks in non-functional testing and lead in execution
    • Accountable for building and leading the full non-functional testing team
    • Drive digital transformation in functional testing to achieve higher levels of competency and efficiency
    • Collaborate closely with business and project management teams in creating schedules and manage the non-functional testing teams
    • Provide direction for the non-functional testing team, ensuring that activities of the team are aligned with other stakeholders
    • Accountable for managing CAPEX and OPEX budgets for testing environments for all systems and non-functional testing tools
    • Responsible for implementation and management of fully functional test environments ensuring stability of all test environments
    • End to end Accountability for disaster recovery testing and ensuring working Business Continuity Planning is in place for all solutions and guarantee stability of systems
    • Responsible for planning, monitoring and implementing controls in non fuctional testing activities
    • Define suitable metrics for measuring nonfunctional test progress and evaluation of the quality of the testing process and products
    • Lead programs to measure, analyze, monitor, manage, and optimize performance and scalability of our current applications and systems.
    • Responsible for reviewing, reporting and making data driven decisions around performance issues or bottlenecks.
    • Evaluate, review and if appropriate, implement recommendations for improvements to existing Test Life Cycle procedures in regards to non-functional testing and documentation

    Manager - Channels Solutions

    We are pleased to announce the following vacancy within the Technology Division. In keeping with our current business needs, we are looking for a person who meets the criteria indicated below.

    Brief Posting Description

    Reporting to Senior Manager – Channels Solutions, the position holder will develop and offer 3rd line support of Oracle Siebel CRM application, IP Contact Center systems, SharePoint, bespoke contact center systems and software components. Provide technical leadership by assigning work, resolving technical problems, and mentoring other developers in all areas of Customer systems development.

    Job Responsibilities

    • End to end accountability for strategy execution, all configurations and development within customer systems domain
    • Ensure all projects assigned are delivered effectively and efficiently
    • Ensure all delivered products are well documented and following the DevOps cycle
    • Ensure 50% of projects are delivered using agile methodologies
    • Ensure products roadmaps are delveloped, and implemented in conjunction with other business functions
    • Conduct business user requirements analysis and specification.
    • Specify computer system requirements for the solution of complex business problems and formulates designs for their solutions.
    • Perform the necessary technical design and development functionality
    • Design and development of front-end tier(s), middle tier(s), and /or back-end database tier(s) for business applications.
    • Performs data modeling to analyze and specify data structures within an application system
    • Support new and existing application development by creating modifications and enhancements for Oracle Siebel & Contact Center applications and perform high level system design.
    • Review and provide input on design approach, performance and base functionality.
    • Lead the team in optimal resource scheduling and allocation for delivery.
    • Research and development: - Take leadership in research and development including adoption of automated testing, agile delivery, scrum methodologies, CI/CD, and other emerging methodologies.
    • Ensures the effectiveness of overall systems performance
    • Responsible for CAPEX budget planning for Customer systems 

    Job Requirements

    • University Degree in computer science or engineering 
    • 5+ years in software development/Support in a Telco industry with 2+ years in team leadership position
    • 3+ years’ experience in Planning/Development in Oracle Siebel CRM
    • 3+ Years’ experience in supporting/Implementing contact center systems

    As part of the interview process external candidates should prepare the following documentation which will be required at a later stage based on your performance in the interviews.

    • An updated CV with contacts of three referees, 2 who must be professional and must have supervised you at some point, the other referee can be a colleague in the same professional field.
    • Kenyan Certificate of Good Conduct (Less than 1 year old) or a receipt of the same from the CID pending release of the hard copy document.
    • Clearance certificate from a reputable Credit Reference Bureau (CRB)
    • University Degree Certificate
