An officer at this level will be responsible to the Senior Finance/Accounts Officer
Duties and Responsibilities
This is the entry and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level will work under the guidance of a senior officer. Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -
compiling of information on commitment and expenditure rends and initiating appropriate corrective action as may be required; compiling of information required on
budget monitoring and expenditure control, including expenditures on salaries and allowances; processing of reallocations within the budget. Preparation of vouchers and
committal documents in accordance with the laid down rules and regulations; data capture; maintenance of primary records such as cash books, ledgers, vote books,
registers and preparation of simple management reports including imprest and expenditure returns; Ensuring safe custody of Centre’s records and assets; Payment of
personal and merchant claims as guided by cash balances in the cash books.
Qualifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
(i) Relevant working experience of at least three (3) years in a comparable position in a public or private organization, and
(ii) Part II of the Certified Public Accountants (CPA) Examination or its equivalent qualifications;
(iii) Certificate in computer applications from recognized applications.
Or,
(iv) Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Commerce (Accounting/Finance), Business Administration or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
