    Branch Manager: Retail

    Responsibilities

    • Drive sales growth by monitoring daily performance against targets and optimizing merchandise displays.
    • Lead and motivate the team through daily meetings, setting clear targets, and ensuring effective performance incentives.
    • Manage product margins through regular review of Goods Received Notes (GRNs) and strategic promotional planning.
    • Ensure strict inventory control with daily stock checks, weekly expiry monitoring, and quarterly branchwide audits.
    • Maintain high stock availability (95%+) on key products through efficient Local Purchase Order (LPO) management and collaboration with the Supply Chain team.
    • Optimize category performance by analyzing sales data weekly and adjusting product assortment to achieve under 60 days of stock.
    • Ensure financial liquidity by overseeing daily cash and weekly payment reconciliations, maintaining creditor days below 30, and managing supplier relationships effectively.

    Qualifications

    • Must have a bachelor’s degree in business administration, Retail Management, or a related field preferred.
    • At least 5 Years experience in retail management, ideally within the cosmetics or FMCG industry.
    • Must have strong communication skills with proficiency in English (both verbal and written).
    • Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and motivating teams to achieve sales targets.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities to manage margins and inventory effectively.
    • Familiarity with retail operations including stock management, promotional strategies, and customer service best practices.
    • Financial acumen with experience in cash handling, reconciliation, and managing financial metrics.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a focus on continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as per retail operation needs.
    • Knowledge of local market trends and customer preferences in the cosmetics industry is a plus.
    • Somali speaking candidates are preferred.
