    Information Management Specialist, P3,

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    Functions / Key Results Expected:

    Support to information monitoring, data analysis and reporting

    • Provide support to the Central South Region Field Office and Country Office (as needed) on the quality assurance of reported data, on the development of automatized data collection mechanisms and on the analysis of data to be used in all reporting products (SitRep, Factsheet, briefing notes, country reports, etc).
    • Ensure a systematic information gathering and information flow across sections, programmes and offices and make sure data is accurate reflected and reported.
    • Develop mapping tools on areas such as access challenges, gaps, context analyses and any other relevant documents to be used for advocacy.
    • Collect and analyse data from emergency teams and produce weekly reports for programme colleagues and senior management.
    • Adapt and maintain existing in‐country information management approaches for collecting, analysing and reporting UNICEF and partner activities and resources and identifying information gaps and propose ways to bridge those gaps.
    • Establish and maintain information databases that consolidate, analyse trends and report/disseminate information to inform critical to decision making. 
    • Identify new information and data requirements to support UNICEF Programs and partners in the states and support FO’s in gathering and sharing this information and data.
    • Assist in the implementation of standardized information management policies, data systems and information products across the states covered by the FO.
    • In close collaboration with Field Coordination and emergencies and Planning and Monitoring teams, support the humanitarian performance monitoring (HPM) activities
    • Lead on the preparation of regular emergency information products, such as the SitReps, Factsheets, presentations, overviews and an emergency dashboard.
    • Manage flows of information and dissemination in an appropriate way, including the field Coordination and emergency SharePoint and other systems.
    • Support the overall strategic framework and oversight to ensure emergency program delivery and quality, and adherence to UNICEF Core Commitments for Children (CCC) in Emergencies and
    • Any other tasks as requested by the line manager. 

    Knowledge Management and data visualization

    • Maintain a centralized SharePoint KM platform - ‘Humanitarian Response for Children Central South CZ FO’ – information and knowledge management hub in SharePoint and other platforms as required. This includes working together with other sections/units to make sure that information is readily available and connected to other sites/workspaces related to the Emergency Response.
    • Act as an information contact point, together with other members of the Emergency team, for information requests needs and questions.
    • Development of knowledge products related to the Emergency Response such as factsheets, briefing notes, FAQs, reports, good practices, lessons learned, etc.
    • Facilitate the liaison between the relevant teams and the FO programme response to ensure that available data is reflected in the CO information products, in collaboration with members of the team.
    • Support the Field Coordination and Emergencies team with key information management products to assist in activities such as HAC planning and any other strategic initiatives of the section
    • Provide support to the design and maintenance of data visualization projects related to the Emergency Response.
    • Together with members of the Emergency Team, maintain list of focal points and essential contacts to facilitate timely and accurate information flow.
    • Systematically screen and cross-check data for internal and external reports, sitreps, information and communication material for accuracy and consistency, at both quantitative and narrative level.
    • Support country-level work streams relating to the compilation and reporting of collected data to inform FO and CO reporting.
    • Produce Monthly Performance Monitoring visual reports and Highlights in line with the Online Performance DashBoard

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have

    • Advanced degree in Knowledge Management, Social Sciences International Relations, or any other relevant field.  First university degree with additional two-years of relevant work experience is acceptable in lieu of an advanced university degree. 
    • A minimum of five (5) years of relevant work experience in knowledge management, programme coordination, research or other relevant areas (information management, learning, community management, communication, M&E) is required.
    • Experience working with SharePoint required.
    • Experience working with Power BI and other visualization software is an asset.
    • Previous work experience in developing countries and crisis affected contexts is required.
    • Previous experience in protracted crises is an asset.
    • Knowledge of Programme monitoring in international development is an asset.
    • Excellent communication ability, especially for online publishing is required.
    • Basic ability with visual design is a required.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills.
    • Fluency in English. Additional United Nations Languages language(s) are an asset
