    Manager , Financial Planning and Analysis

    Overall Job Purpose

    The Manager , Financial Planning and Analysis plays an important part in execute decision support. In general, the role provides insight and support in the departmental and executive decision process. The role holder complements the overall efforts of HFC towards attaining the Finance of the future

    Principle Accountabilities

    • Assist in development of the annual budget and the medium term strategic plan
    • Ensure timely budget variance reporting to all the departments and subsidiaries
    • Monitor costs and expenditure of business units and recommend initiatives to improve efficiency
    • Ensure continuous revenue assurance and recommend opportunities to grow and diversify the business unit revenue
    • Preparation and timely distribution of segment reports to various departments
    • Prepare the monthly and annual budgets and rolling forecasts for the units highlighting drivers expected to impact the business and the corrective actions required
    • Automating finance processes – robotic process automation
    • Business performance analysis and presentation/sharing thereof to the leadership teams
    • Assist in moving the department to high value work moving on from data consolidation to analysis
    • Together with other departments develop the annual ICAAP
    • Championing the FTP processes
    • Supporting partnerships between business unit and the finance department across all the departments and subsidiaries
    • Budgeting and budget control – ensure the annual budgeting is done and continuously ensure budgetary discipline is adhered to by all departments and subsidiaries
    • Establishing and maintaining the business budget reporting system for individual branches and the Group as a whole
    • Conducting cost/benefit analyses as required and preparing comparative, analytical reports on the fiscal performance of the bank, Group and branches and reporting results to executive and management staff
    • Conduct quarterly competitor analysis
    • Any other duty assigned from time to time by the Finance and HFC leadership

    Minimum Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience

    • First degree in a business related and quantitative field
    • Master’s degree in a business related and quantitative field is an added advantage
    • CPA (K) or ACCA Finalist
    • 4 years’ experience in finance department within a bank

    Key Competencies and Skills

    • Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models
    • Solid analytical and decision-making skills, leadership abilities
    • Advanced computer software skills including Excel and Financial reporting software
    • Knowledge of MS Office and core banking system
