    Market Research Lead-Data & Analytics

    What You Will Do

    • Perform deep data analysis on (self-collected & readily available) data using Google Suite software and statistical programs (e.g., SPPS, R, Stata). Develop, process, structure & clean large data sets.
    • Apply complex modeling's, such as correlation- and cohort- analysis.
    • Utilize our business intelligence tool (DOMO) for advanced analytics and data visualizations.
    • Leverage data from our business intelligence tool to sharpen and uplift the quality of MR deliverables.
    • Assist with driving the Data/GIS agenda, support our Data/GIS coordinator with core MR deliverables that require complex data analysis and evaluations.
    • Design and lead in-depth customer & market focused research efforts using both quan. & qual. techniques.
    • Collect and analyze customer and market data for trends, patterns, and insights.
    • Respond to inbound research and insight requests.
    • One-off MR initiatives and projects require a case-by-case non-standardized approach.
    • Data and study results need to be made insightful and relevant to become applicable to internal & external stakeholders and departments.

    What You Will Bring

    Ideal

    • Bachelor's degree from an academic university. Basic understanding of statistics and research is required.
    • 1+ years of work experience in a data or research related role.
    • Familiar with modern business solutions and software enabled industries.
    • English proficiency.
    • Academic Research Master with qualifications or a specialization in Statistics, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, and alike.
    • 5+ years of work experience with deep data analysis, in a research related company
    • Experienced with renewable energy (cooking fuel) and/or FMCG industry.
    • English and Kiswahili proficiency.

    • Comfortable with the dynamics of a fast-paced, growth-stage startup environment. Willing to work extended hours and demonstrate flexibility. Able to adapt to an ever-changing environment. 
    • Data & statistics. Technically aware and competent. Process fast amounts of data in a concise and coherent manner; store and organize data; make raw data insightful. Deep knowledge of platforms and business intelligence tools that enable KOKO to make well-informed decisions.
    • Customer assessments & Market intelligence -studies. Experience with developing, coordinating, and concluding customer and market studies. Able to drive studies that can be both Qualitative and Quantitative in nature.
    • Data, business intelligence, and statistical- tools and platforms. Background in statistics and data manipulation, and hands-on experience with industry-standard platforms (e.g., Excel, Google Suite, SPSS, R, Stata, Domo, Looker, etc.).
    • Hands-on (field) research experience. Demonstrated to be able to self-collect data, and process both quantitative data as well as qualitative insights. 
    • Project and product -management. Proven ability to drive field projects end to end. Able to operate agile with lean on resources. 
    • Demonstrated aptitude for project management: balance priorities; clarify requirements; lead cross-functional efforts; pay keen attention to detail; generally, keep deliverables on schedule.
    • Manage and measure work assigns responsibility for tasks and decisions; sets clear objectives; monitors process, progress, and results; designs feedback loops into work.
    • Timely decision-making: makes decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure; able to make a quick decision.
    • Confident with adapting to new tools and platforms: learn and utilize the latest software platforms; update MR team on new tools; provide technical support when needed.
    • Communication skills, verbal and non-verbal.
    • Interpersonal skills, ability to connect and understand markets and customers.
    • Planning & organizing skills, rigid when necessary - flexible when needed.
    • Ambition to grow professionally and contribute to the development of the company.
