Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Facility-in-charge, the officer will:

• Work in critical care settings to provide care to patients in clinics/units.
• Monitor patients from the operating theatre and other relevant units.
• Attend to patients, ensuring they receive adequate treatment/care and follow-up.
• Assess, plan, implement nursing interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
• Provide appropriate healthcare services including integrated management of childhood illness (IMCI), immunization, PMTCT, antenatal care, and delivery.
• Provide health education and counseling to patients/clients and the community on identified health needs.
• Refer patients/clients appropriately.
• Facilitate patients' admissions and initiate discharge plans.
• Maintain records on patients'/clients' health condition and care.
• Ensure a tidy and safe clinical environment.
• Collect and compile data.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned.

Requirements for Appointment

• Higher National Diploma in Nursing in a specialized area from a recognized institution.
• Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Kenya Registered Community Health Nursing, Kenya Registered Nursing, Kenya Registered Midwifery, Kenya Registered Nursing/Midwifery, or Kenya Registered Nursing/Mental Health and Psychiatry from a recognized institution.
• Registration Certificate issued by the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Valid practicing license from the Nursing Council of Kenya.
• Certificate in computer application skills from a recognized institution.
