    Maintenance Supervisor

    To inspect equipment condition, measure & analyze trends and identify the needs for maintenance (Mechanical equipment), taking into account production constrains without compromising the safety needs of the plant. Contributes to the best level of performance of the plant’s equipment      

    Maintenance Supervisor Job Responsibilities    

    • Support plant team in ensuring employees and contractors adhere to the Health and Safety Policy as well as adherence to OSHA Act in all the operations by employees and contractors.
    • Ensure compliance to our Environmental Policy and carry out maintenance activities in a manner that would cause minimum impact to the environment.
    • Maintain an in depth knowledge of the condition of the plant equipment on a continuous basis.
    • Ensure the planned inspection of all plant equipment and initiate work orders based on inspection results, including safety checks. In case of an anomaly, performs first an analysis and prioritise each action.
    • Monitors and coordinate condition predictors for all critical equipment i.e. Oil analysis, wear rates, Vibration analysis.
    • Follow up preventive maintenance schedules.
    • Validate and Update equipment specifications files and History sheets.
    • Carry out first level inspections on all Mechanical equipment in the plant.
    • Evaluate and improve the preventive maintenance plans as proposed by suppliers, create and update corresponding sheets.
    • Ensures systematic review, application and optimisation of lubrication program for all Mechanical equipment.
    • Carry out specific inspections (Basic vibration analysis, Balancing and laser alignment, noise, temperature, and other Mechanical measurements).
    • Preparation of daily work schedule for PM tasks in accordance with equipment needs while utilising SAP document and monitor equipment history files.
    • Develop and maintain a predictive maintenance program (Routes) for the plant and monitor progress and effectiveness of the preventive program and initiate any changes where necessary.
    • Counter check parameter settings for all the critical equipment and new installations e.g. Alarm levels.
    • Report Inspection findings and make recommendations to the Engineering management of the preventive and corrective work or improvements to be performed based on his analysis.
    • Performs on call duties for Mechanical Works
    • Other duties and assignments as necessary.

    Qualifications for the Maintenance Supervisor Job

    • Ordinary Diploma or Higher Diploma manufacturing Industry or Bsc. Mechanical Engineering
    • 5 years experience in a busy environment most preparable  working in a cement processing , heavy machinery, soda ash , edible oils etc
    • Good in Vibration analysis, laser alignment and balancing
    • Computer proficiency in Ms Excel, MS Project, Vibration analysis software, Word.
    • Good knowledge of Health and Safety Laws and Regulations.
    • Engineering drawings reading skills.
    • Experience in a full cement manufacturing plant will be an added advantage

    Qualifications for the Internal Auditor Job

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline, like Commerce, accounting, economics etc from a recognised university.
    • Fully qualified CPA (K) or ACCA. CIA and CISA is an added advantage.
    • Minimum four (4) years’ experience in external or internal audit with a reputable firm.
    • Excellent report writing skills.
    • Excellent data analysis and interpretation.
    • Experience in information system audits will be an added advantage.

    Quality Control Manager

    Quality Control Manager Job Responsibilities

    • Participate in planning and establishing short development and management of QC budget.
    • Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives. Ensure that these are in line with client specifications and are communicated to the quality control team.
    • Design, develop and implement quality control training programs. This includes determining, negotiating and agreeing on in-house quality procedures, standards and/or specifications.
    • Oversee the work of the QC team in respect to the execution of all the required testing of raw materials, intermediates and finished products and the generation of reports.
    • Work with the production and supply chain functions to provide QC input to the development of supply chain plans to ensure that client QC consideration are given full consideration.
    • Manage customer complaints and ensure they have been investigated and answered satisfactorily.
    • Set up effective systems for maintaining and calibrating laboratory equipment and instrument qualification.
    • Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
    • Provide technical and statistical expertise to production teams to maximize product reliability and minimize costs.
    • Perform review of Product Quality Reviews and where required participate in customer/regulatory audits along with SHE personnel.
    • Initiate and evaluate proposed changes in methods or specifications that have the potential to impact the quality of a material, and new product development.
    • Implement, monitor and facilitate performance management programs and support staff through measurable KPIs, training, mentorship and coaching. Up to date QC policies, standards and procedures set out in an operating manual and communication and training to teams to guide implementation/conformance.
    • Periodic product quality reviews are conducted and business processes are audited and tested to ensure they are in line with regulatory quality requirements.
    • Confirm quality requirements of raw materials with suppliers at source to ensure conformity with set standards and that finished goods samples are tested in each production schedule.
    • Ensure ISO International Standards are adhered to and maintained and to strive to the highest international standards for the industry.

    Requirements for the Quality Control Manager Job

    • Bachelors Degree in lab technology, chemistry or a related field.
    • At least eight (8) years of experience in the management of quality control and quality assurance programs in manufacturing, three (3) of which must be in a supervisory position.
    • Sound knowledge of manufacturing facilities requirements, processes, operations and maintenance.
    • Experience in quality control testing and inspection in a manufacturing environment.
    • Knowledge and exposure to analytical QC methods and equipment.
    • Results driven with accuracy and attention to detail.
