    Assistant Underwriter – ( Kitengela Branch )

    PURPOSE:

    To evaluate, price and prescribe the terms to apply on risk proposals so as to deliver the desired loss ratio and profitability.

    To key in the underwriting information into the system and generate debits, endorsements and Policy documents.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    1. Accept or reject risk in line with the set underwriting guidelines
    2. Prepare and process policy documents
    3. Process renewals, endorsements and follow up on valuations
    4. Reconciliation of underwriting issues
    5. Process renewal notices follow up on lapses and valuations
    6. Respond to customer and intermediaries’ enquiries
    7. Raise refund cheques, commissions for customers and service providers
    8. Prepare and dispatch debit/ credit notes, member schedules premium and fund statements, utilization reports and replenishment letters to clients/ schemes
    9. Process and dispatch membership cards to clients and intermediaries and Cancellation of policies due to non-payment of premiums.

    PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

    Academic Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Business or in a related field

    Experience

    1. Up to two (2) years’ relevant work experience

    Professional Qualifications

    1. Progress towards CII or IIK (Required) Experience

    Skills and Attributes

    1. Excellent communication and presentation skills
    2. Problem solving skills
    3. Excellent interpersonal skills
    4. Good negotiation skills
    5. Good analytical skills
    6. Computer literate in MS Office and other office applications
    7. Understanding of the working environment /competitors
    8. Technical competence in insurance
    9. Basic knowledge of regulations by AKI and IRA

    Human Resources Assistant – CIC Life

    PURPOSE

    To provide general day-to-day HR support to HRBP – Life as part of the Group HR function in relation to all human resources matters.

    Primary Responsibilities

    1. Support recruitment activities of new employees;
    2. Coordinate orientation and training sessions for new employees;
    3. Ensure smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queries;
    4. Preparing new employee files;
    5. Compile and update employee records (hard and soft copies);
    6. Process documentation and prepare reports relating to employees activities (staffing, recruitment, training, grievances, performance evaluations etc);
    7. Coordinate HR projects and programs (meetings, training, surveys etc) and take minutes;
    8. Deal with employee requests regarding human resources issues, rules, and regulations;
    9. Provide relevant data to the payroll office in a timely manner;
    10. Performing file audits to ensure that all required employee documentation is collected and maintained;
    11. Support completion of termination paperwork and assist with exit interviews;
    12. Draft Ad-hoc letters and other communication as and when required;
    13. Providing confidential ad hoc advice and assistance to employees.
    14. Any other relevant duties as assigned from time to time.

    PERSON SPECIFICATION

    Academic Qualifications

    1. Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or Business Related field

    Professional Qualifications

    1. Progress in CHRP will be an added advantage

    Experience

    1. Up to 1year relevant work experience in Human Resources

    Skills and Attributes

    1. Excellent communication and presentation skills
    2. Excellent interpersonal skills
    3. Ability to quickly resolve people’s problems
    4. Familiar with common HR applications and excellent analytical skills
