    Network Operations Center Engineer, Nairobi

    Your Role

    As NOC Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical input, solutions, and recommendations to incidents that affect the normal operations of KOKO’s network of over 700 IoT-connected, self-service machines called KOKO Points and their associated cloud systems. You will work towards minimizing the negative impact of incidents by having rapid issue resolution and continuous improvement and evolution of our products.

    What You Will Do

    1. Own the information capture and resolution of network tickets, ensuring accurate information is captured at each step of the issue life-cycle in the ticketing system
    2. Pro-active monitoring of the entire IoT infrastructure and applications systems and first Line resolution as per agreed Service Level Agreements with different stakeholders and follow up to confirm service availability and stability after resolution
    3. Take part in network roll-out of releases which include but are not limited to creating the roll-out plan, back out plans, implementation checklists, documenting and circulating post-implementation reports
    4. Resolution of tickets assigned and closure within the working shifts and escalation of unresolved tickets to Next Support Level as per the incident management procedures
    5. Provision of the incident reports with ticket closure and daily shift reports within the function
    6. Work closely and collaboratively with other stakeholders, including Field Maintenance and Engineering to establish best practices in maximizing the uptime of the monitored systems and provide feedback for continuous improvements of NOC processes
    7. Maintain customer satisfaction through professional conduct and engagements while ensuring an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained
    8. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with respective Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures

    What You Will Bring to KOKO

    1. 2+ years of experience working with electronics and embedded systems
    2. University degree in Engineering or a technical field
    3. Basic understanding of network monitoring concepts and management tools (eg, FreshService or equivalent)
    4. Experience in private/public cloud systems, incident management principles, Lean 6 sigma, Fishbone & Five Whys methods, and data analysis
    5. Outstanding organizational, time management and follow-up skills
    6. Competent in problem-solving, team building, planning and data-driven decision making.
    7. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills

    Fleet Operations Assistant, Kisumu

    Your Role

    As a Fleet Operations assistant, you will assist in the administration and maintenance of vehicles to minimize downtimes and enhance delivery time. You will also assist in managing drivers and vehicle performance to ensure vehicles are optimally utilized to reduce wastage and maximize returns by managing both the company drivers and the 3PLs to achieve efficiency and labor productivity.

    What You Will Do

    1. Respond to requests relating to service calls and maintenance needs/ problems in a timely and professional manner
    2. Collaborating with various teams to ensure efficient and effective vehicle allocation
    3. Timely response to driver concerns, complaints and escalations
    4. Proper duty and shift allocation to ensure there is no driver burn out or unnecessary overtime
    5. Ensure proper planning and scheduling for all vehicle inspections, insurance and timely repair and maintenance to ensure there are no downtimes that could affect business operations
    6. Oversee implementation of policies and procedures applicable to fleet, maintenance and inventory operations, including safety and training
    7. Ensure proper management of the company drivers and the 3PLs in scheduling deliveries and goods returned to ensure efficiency and optimization of operations
    8. Ensure the fleet and personnel data is accurately captured and stored securely
    9. Ensure that all relevant procedures, SOPs and routines are followed and adhered to in line with the company policy, procedures and requirements
    10. Any other tasks as required by your line manager

    What You Will Bring to KOKO

    1. 2+ years of experience managing drivers and/or a fleet in an established organization
    2. Diploma in automotive engineering, supply chain, logistics, transport management, or similar (degree is an added advantage)
    3. Knowledge of county and state regulations relating to fleet maintenance
    4. Excellent data analysis and spreadsheet skills
    5. Hands on, apt, and experienced planner with highly developed coordination skills
    6. High integrity and moral standing
    7. Ability to solve problems very independently in a fast paced environment
    8. Able to manage multiple priorities and flexible workloads with peaks/multitasking capability
    9. Experience in fleet management software and ERP knowledge
    10. Acute attention to detail

    Network Operations Supervisor, Kisumu

    Your Role

    As Network Operations Supervisor, Kisumu, you will be responsible for deployment, commissioning and maintenance of network hardware that includes KOKO Points, Smart Tanker and Smart Depot units across Kisumu neighborhoods ensuring they run to their maximum efficiency, uptime, and output through development and implementation of effective strategies, processes, team and relationship management. This role is critical in delivering KOKO’s promise of network quality and uptime to customers.

    What You Will Do

    1. Identify and deploy appropriate resource levels, technical skill sets and systems to install, test, calibrate and commission KOKO Points in neighborhood shops and other network hardware. Ensure planning and adherence to all installation, calibration and maintenance schedules and activities against set metrics
    2. Ensure all deployed network hardware conform to respective quality and regulatory requirements
    3. Plan and coordinate respective maintenance activities in the field including analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues and developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
    4. Analyze and investigate reported quality and maintenance issues from the network while interfacing with relevant support functions to ensure closure in accordance with design, engineering, company guidelines, and external regulatory requirements
    5. Drive improvement to latest calibration and maintenance methods, ensuring accuracy, and throughput in a rapid growth environment
    6. Monitor departmental inventory and interface with stores and procurement to place orders when necessary combined with a strategy to manage usage/expenditure
    7. Ensure the development and retention of a high performing team to meet the current and evolving needs of the business through effective selection, training, coaching/mentoring, and performance management. Act as the contact point for all Network Operations activities in Kisumu back to the central office
    8. Maintain customer satisfaction through professional conduct and engagements. Ensure an effective interface with other departmental staff is maintained.
    9. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures

    What You Will Bring to KOKO

    1. Bsc degree in Engineering or other technical field
    2. 2+ years of experience with a proven success record in technical field operations or in a project management capacity
    3. Good leadership skills and ability to manage a variety of cross-functional team members
    4. Outstanding organizational, time management, people management and follow-up skills
    5. Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and data driven decision making
    6. Familiarity with mobile phone applications, tools and ERP systems

    Network Operations Technician, Kisumu

    As Network Operations Technician, you will be responsible for installation, calibration, commissioning and maintenance of network hardware that includes KOKO Points, Smart Tanker and Smart Depot units across Kisumu neighborhoods with a goal of minimizing equipment breakdown through effective implementation of laid out predictive and productive maintenance systems. This role is critical in delivering KOKO’s promise of network quality and uptime to customers.

    What You Will Do

    1. Carry out shop outlets technical inspections, installations and test protocols, calibration and commissioning of KOKO Points
    2. Ensure all deployed network hardware conform to respective quality and regulatory requirements and adherence to all installation, calibration and maintenance schedules against set metrics
    3. Troubleshoot system and hardware errors and resolve technical problems using a structured approach with a view to resolving incidents in a timely manner and prevent recurrence
    4. Document and own activities by completing forms, reports, logs, and records using provided tools. Ensure good work management of provided work orders, instructions and schedules to meet daily targets and maintain high quality outputs
    5. Continuously identify needs for improvement by conveying it to line manager and/or engineering team to maintain high quality work standards
    6. Maintain assigned tools and equipment in good operating condition by following operating instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, maintaining supply levels and performing regular maintenance
    7. Maintain customer satisfaction through professional conduct and engagements
    8. Ensure that the function operates in accordance with any Health, Safety and Environmental policies and procedures

    What You Will Bring to KOKO

    1. 1+ year of experience in field operations or a similar technical capacity

    4. Working knowledge of plumbing repairs, maintenance processes, methods and installation techniques
    5. Excellent analytical, problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    6. Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
    7. A team player able to work effectively with others and independently with minimal supervision
