    UI | UX Designer

    • As UI|UX Designer, you will report to the Design lead and be part of the team responsible for delivering user experience design needs company wide. In particular, the role involves taking user stories from the product roadmap and designing customer workflows through the solution and designing assets which include but are not limited to screens, images, icons, and marketing and customer engagement media, help and education content. The role will work closely with the Design lead to build out user experience flows, the marketing team for copy, and the frontend developers to build the screens. We will work in a very iterative manner, so you must be able to design an MVP version, an amazing final version, and incremental improvements in between. You should be knowledgeable about design within our African markets leveraging global standards.
    • The role is based where we have offices, preferably Nairobi, Kenya however, a candidate’s home time zone will be relevant to success in the role (GMT –1 to +3 preferred). Given our hybrid model, our expectation for new joiners is that during their probation period they come into the office 4 days a week, transitioning to 3 days a week after they successfully complete their probation.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Work with the Design lead to assist in developing screens for the app, both mobile and web versions.
    • Create and develop design assets such as icons and illustrations to be used in the designs.
    • Design micro interactions such as button and screen animations.
    • Create images and icons to use within the app that add context and personality.
    • Follow the design standards to ensure consistency across the app.
    • Keep track of assets and their different versions to ensure the team is working with the correct versions.
    • Review the developed screens and give comprehensive and actionable feedback to the developers.
    • Generally, uphold the values of the Company.

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • 2+ years of relevant work experience with UI design.
    • Experience utilizing auto layout, grids and designing component libraries.
    • Experience working in an Agile environment.
    • Experience working on a mobile app, finance or banking solution, or SaaS product preferred.
    • Experience in usability and user experience testing of UI designs.
    • Design book that you can share showing past work.

    Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer

    The Role

    • We are looking for a QA Engineer to join our QA team that is apt to learn new technologies, grow their skills, and, most importantly, drive the evolution of our software testing practices.  This is a key position within Engineering, so your efforts will have a noticeable impact on both the company and the product. In addition to the qualifications below, successful candidates will demonstrate a passion for Testing concepts, and cultivating a SDLC culture that yields high-quality software, strong engineering principles, and methodical problem-solving skills.  

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and specifications.
    • Develop, implement, and execute test plans and test cases for web applications using Playwright.
    • Perform both manual and automated testing to identify, isolate, and document software defects.
    • Design, maintain, and enhance automated test scripts for web applications using Playwright.
    • Conduct regression testing to ensure the stability and reliability of software releases.
    • Collaborate with developers to reproduce, debug, and resolve identified issues.
    • Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends related to quality assurance and automation.
    • Participate in phases of the software development life cycle (SDLC), providing input on quality-related aspects of the SDLC.

    Skills and competencies

    • Proven experience in software quality assurance with a focus on web applications
    • Strong proficiency in automated testing tools, with expertise in Playwright.
    • Solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and agile methodologies.
    • Proficient in writing and executing SQL queries for data validation.
    • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
    • Knowledge of C#, JavaScript, and other programing languages is a plus.

    Educational Qualifications and Key Skills

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
    • Relevant certifications such as ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) are desired but not required.

    Payroll Officer

    The Role

    • We are recruiting a Payroll Officer to join the People Operations Team who will be responsible for managing and facilitating timely and accurate monthly Payroll operations. As a core member of the People Operations Team, the Payroll Officer will report to the Group Head of People and work closely with Regional Employee Experience Directors and the Finance team to ensure a seamless payroll administration process is done.
    • We are seeking candidates with 3-5 years of experience in payroll management. The successful candidate must be passionate about People, possess strong attention to details, exceptional communication skills, strong organization and planning skills. Success in this role will require someone who is comfortable working in a dynamic and fast paced environment.

    The role will be in Nairobi, Kenya or Johannesburg, South Africa.

    Duties and Responsibilities

    • Manage and facilitate the timely and accurate monthly Payroll operations
    • Calculate and enter payroll data
    • Data entry, records management, and analytics as needed
    • Perform month on month payroll reconciliations
    • Review payroll journal entries for posting
    • Process expenses, Tax payments as needed
    • Manage compliance with all statutory regulations, as well as company policies
    • Communicate developments in a clear and actionable manner to other internal stakeholders, including People Operations, Finance, and Legal teams
    • Partner with People Operations and Finance teams to support other initiatives such as transfer pricing, time-tracking, records management, compensation, people analytics
    • Review employee data changes such as new hire entry and direct deposit set up, promotions, status changes, terminations, etc
    • Process Leave of Absences/leave management
    • Maintains compensation databases and ensures employment records are properly maintained in the system
    • Generally, uphold the values of the Company
    • Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time

    Qualifications & Experience:

    • 3-5 yrs of relevant experience managing payroll
    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field 
    • Experience managing payroll in multiple countries and regions
    • Superior communication skills in English, both written and oral
    • Relationship builder who is comfortable managing the interests of multiple stakeholders
    • Able to work in a complex, high paced environment, and handle ambiguity effectively
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality
    • Excellent attention to details
    • Must be process oriented
