Required experience

• 5 years of experience in project planning and management, analysis, and research, at the national or international level. Experience in the management of environmental projects, including monitoring and evaluation is a plus. Working knowledge of any other UN Official language is an asset.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications:

• High school education or equivalent is required. Specialized technical studies in graphic arts/design with a diploma or certificate are desirable.

Experience:

• A minimum of 7 years' experience in digital/interactive design; developing Information Architectures (e.g. site mapping, gap analysis, IA design strategy, wire-framing); using dobe XD, Sketch, InVision, Zeplin and other wireframing and prototyping tools' is an asset; working with and contributing to design systems is desired; Deep knowledge of cross-platform usability standards and UI specifications is a plus; knowledge of standards for web accessibility is preferred.

Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this consultancy position fluency in English is required.

Qualifications/special skills

Academic Qualifications: An advanced university degree (Master's or Higher) in environmental science, climate change, meteorology or a similar related field is required. A first level degree with an additional two years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced degree.

Experience:

•  A minimum of 10 years progressively responsible experience in climate information services, demonstrated experience in developing climate information frameworks, policies, sector action plans, communication plans and demonstrated successful experience in formulation and delivery of climate information training programme materials is required.
•  Experience in the policy development process associated with climate information and early warning is an asset.
•  Experience in working and collaborating with governments and Hydromet Services in the Pacific region is desirable.
•  Previous work experience undertaking similar activities in the Pacific region is highly desirable.

Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the consultancy, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another UN Language is desirable.

• Advanced university degree (Masters level) in Environmental Science/Studies, Business Administration, Planning, Management, Social/Political Science, Communications, Auditing or the equivalent combination of education and experience in a relevant field is required. A first-level university degree in combination with two (2) years qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree.

Experience:

• A minimum of five years' experience in any of the fields of monitoring, evaluation, auditing or systematized knowledge management is required. Evaluation work experience with the UN or other international agencies is considered and is required.

Language: English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in oral and written English is required.

Qualifications/special skills

Experience:

• A minimum of 7 years of experience in financial planning, budget management and operations is required.
• Proven working experience with the Enterprise Resource Platform (ERP) systems, (e.g. UMOJA) is required.
• Work experience in the United Nations is desirable;

Language:

• Fluency in English is required.
• Knowledge of other United Nations languages is an asset.
